CLEVELAND – PCT is proud to announce the 2016 Technicians of the Year: Danielle Whitley, Massey Services (residential category); Rob Heisner, McCloud Services (commercial category); and John “J.D.” Donaldson, Parker Pest Control (termite category). The annual awards, sponsored by BASF Pest Control Solutions, recognize a trio of standout service professionals in the residential, commercial and termite categories.
“We’re happy to recognize Danielle, Rob and J.D. in the 20th year of our awards,” said PCT Managing Editor and Internet Editor Brad Harbison. “Each of this year’s honorees display an unmatched commitment to customers, coworkers and community, and it’s truly our privilege to shine the spotlight on them.”
Profiles of Whitley, Heisner and Donaldson appear in the January 2017 issue of PCT, and all three winners will be recognized during a special ceremony at NPMA Legislative Day in March.
A brief description of each winner follows:
Danielle Whitley, Massey Services, Orlando, Fla. residential category – During the last 16 years at Massey Services, Whitley has relentlessly worked to understand why a certain pest issue has occurred and how she can prevent it. And while Whitley has proven adept at solving challenging pest problems, she’s never lost sight that her real job is to take care of her customers, whatever that might entail.
Rob Heisner, McCloud Services, Nashville, Tenn., commercial category – A former food processing facility worker, Heisner learned first-hand the importance of protecting food plants from harmful pests. He’s put this unique skill set to good use at McCloud Services the last seven years, keeping pests out of food facilities and communicating with clients the way only a former quality control professional can.
J.D. Donaldson, Parker Pest Control, Ponca City, Okla. termite category – In 16 years at Parker Pest Control, John “J.D.” Donaldson has proven adept at solving challenging pest problems by committing himself to learning termite work inside and out. He understands the precision involved in this work and has shown a willingness to embrace new products and technology. Donaldson’s also taken on additional responsibilities at Parker Pest Control, including serving as company’s safety officer and trainer.
The 2017 program will launch in April. For more information about the program email bharbison@gie.net.

All the nominations are reviewed by a panel of pest control industry experts who determine the winners. During the last 20 years PCT has recognized 60 Technicians of the Year and more than 400 finalists from companies throughout the U.S., ranging from 3-person operations to companies at a pest control industry event. The awards are sponsored by BASF.
