[2005 State of the Industry Report] How Do You Define Value?

How do you define value? Warren Buffet said, “price is what you pay; value is what you get.” Convention defines it as the “amount of goods or services considered to be a fair equivalent for something else.” In other words, value is getting your money’s worth. What if you could increase the value of the purchases you make — and get more for your money — simply by choosing the right partner?
Whether focusing on new product launches or tweaking existing formulas, Bayer’s arsenal of products has delivered value for years — measured in quality, efficacy, and reduced callbacks. Nowhere is that more apparent than for the countless PMPs who use our flagship brands, like Premise® and Maxforce® each day. Simultaneously, we’ve enhanced the functionality and flexibility of our pyrethroid brands. For example, Tempo® SC Ultra’s crystal technology stays 100 percent active for eight months; Suspend® SC has become the pyrethroid for controlling pests that threaten public health; and DeltaDust® is the only waterproof dust approved in food-handling areas.
But, it’s not enough to focus on product innovations alone — value is more than a new product launch or seasonal promotion. At Bayer, we define value as being 100 percent committed to you and the success of your business via:
• Dedicated sales and marketing teams to sort out any issue you’re facing — in the field or in the office;
• Employing the best research and development teams to provide solutions to pest issues;
• Innumerable business-building resources like Pest Management Insights and Total Lasting Control™;
• Strong relationships with peers at the EPA to develop label language that is practical for products that perform;
• Advancement of the industry, allocating major resources to actively support and sponsor state associations, the annual NPMA convention, “Good to Great” meeting, and “Young Scientist of the Year” contest;
• Industry experts on-hand at Maxforce/IPM seminars and Mobile University trainings; and,
• Engaging consumers, through the Crime Scene Insects national sponsorship and tour.
As your business evolves, we hope you see value as we see it: automatic and unfettered access to the best products available; support, training, and resources you want; the tools you need to transfer that value to customers; and total confidence that you’re 100 percent Backed by Bayer.
