Whitmire Micro-Gen’s new PT 250 Propoxur residual insecticide creates a non-repellent residual barrier that provides quick knockdown of crawling insects and excellent long-lasting control, the company says. This low-odor formulation is System III compatible and labeled for spot, void, and crack and crevice treatments to control insect infestations in residential and commercial accounts, including food-handling establishments. It is also labeled for indoor and outdoor use. PT 250 Propoxur, an alternative to chlorpyrifos and pyrethroids, is ideal as part of a rotation plan in the management of pyrethroid-resistant cockroaches. It also kills bait averse cockroaches, Whitmire Micro-Gen reports. PT 250 Propoxur comes in a 17.5-ounce can and is packaged 12 cans per case. AMVAC Chemical Corporation, a subsidiary of American Vanguard, announced the registration of Wisdom GC Granular insecticide to control a broad spectrum of soil insect pests on lawns in landscaped areas and perimeters around residential, institutional, public, commercial and industrial buildings. The active ingredient in Wisdom GC Granular is bifenthrin, a pyrethroid insecticide that has been used for several years to control insects such as ants (including imported fire ants), chinch bugs, mole crickets and other insect pests commonly found in turfgrass and ornamentals, the company reports. Wisdom GC Granular Insecticide application rates range from 1.15 pounds per 1,000 square feet to 4.6 pounds per 1,000 square feet of formulated product, depending on pests to be controlled, application method and timing.

Maxforce FC Ant Killer Bait Gel is now available in a ready-to-use, 60-gram syringe, providing pest management professionals with an easy-to-carry option to eliminate ant colonies, the company says. Maxforce FC Ant Killer Bait Gel, with fipronil, takes advantage of the natural behavior of ants. Foraging worker ants are attracted to the product’s sweet formula. They bring the bait back to the nest, where it is shared with other ants, killing the entire colony, including the queen(s) in what is known as the Maxforce Domino Effect, Maxforce reports. Due to the high-moisture content, it is normal during storage for the syringe to contain a couple grams of liquid. Simply shake the syringe before use to help even out the consistency. To apply, remove the cap and depress the plunger. If necessary, during the first few placements simply pull back slightly on the plunger to prevent over application.

The "Kick Butt II" is specifically designed to use products more efficiently. Ounces of insecticide dust are used — not pounds. A 50-foot polyurethane hose allows the technician freedom to move about the account.

Gladiator from Agrisel USA is an EPA-approved neurotoxin for anticoagulant-resistant rodents. A single dose is lethal to rodents — including the Norway rat, roof rat and house mouse — but is safe for pets and animals, according to the company. Formulated for higher palatability to ensure consumption, Gladiator is the meal of choice for destructive rodents. Once Gladiator is consumed, rats and mice stop eating additional bait and feeds. On the other hand, anticoagulant rodenticides allow rodents to continue feeding for up to five days. After consumption of Gladiator, results are achieved within one or two days. These immediate effects require 400% less bait for the same results, Agrisel USA reports. In addition, there is no secondary toxicity because Gladiator’s stop-feed action minimizes the amount of product rodents consume.

Powered by a 12-volt rechargeable battery, the ProPack eliminates the need for manually pumping and boasts enough power to spray up to 120 gallons on a single charge. The base is flexible and installs easily on regular linear surfaces plus concave (round windows) or convex curves (arches) or even irregular surfaces (statues and curved sign-letters), according to Bird-X. Spikes’ modules are 2 feet long, and each strip locks seamlessly with the next. Excess length snaps off for a precise fit with no wasted material, Bird-X reports. Spiked metal projections come pre-assembled in the base to reduce installation labor. Unique center spikes prevent birds from roosting between projections. Holes every inch along the base allow easy attachment with screws or nails, or adhesive, wire ties or anything else. But the biggest improvement for ease of use is the molded "outrigger" stabilizers (or "feet") in the base. These stabilizers, every 8 inches, keep the strips balanced during installation.
