Bell Laboratories introduced Provoke Professional Rat Attractant, a food-based gel that entices rats to rat traps. This new rat attractant is formulated to meet the unique behavioral characteristics of rats, particularly their sense of smell, the company said.

Available from Bell distributors in December, Provoke for rats will come in an 8-ounce, no-drip squeeze bottle. Its tapered nozzle makes application on any trap easy and quick, Bell Labs reported, and it is ideal to use with Bell’s Trapper T-Rex Rat Trap, which features an integrated, removable cup to hold the attractant.

This non-toxic, hypoallergenic attractant can be used in any account but it is especially suited for sensitive accounts where food allergies are a concern. It can be used in schools, food production plants and other accounts where attractants, such as peanut butter, are prohibited. Provoke for rats is water soluble and will not stain clothing or fabrics.

Nixalite
www.nixalite.com/fogforce.aspx
Nixalite now offers two effective, humane products to repel birds, the company reported. Fog Force and Migrate are made from a naturally occurring compound with reduced risk to the environment, and not from pesticides. Fog Force is made with methyl anthranilate, a synthetic grape flavoring agent in foods and beverages.

Fog Force can be used indoors and outdoors to repel many nuisance birds such as Canada geese, pigeons and gulls. It delivers a dry haze of fine aerosol particles that stay suspended in the air, the company said. When birds are exposed to Fog Force, the result is a pain stimulus that irritates their eyes and mucus membranes without permanent damage. Fogging works with all birds, independent of their activity, Nixalite said. They do not have to eat the product. Birds will associate the pain stimulus with the site and learn that the area is not desirable.

Migrate is a spray-on repellent used to repel geese or ducks on turf areas. It is a microencapsulated product that can be mixed with water to spray on turf. Birds that come in contact with Migrate typically will shake their heads, spit out their food and leave the area to seek a better food source. Migrate is not harmful to household pets; it will only affect birds, the company said. Fog Force can be used in both thermal foggers and ultra-low volume cold fog generators.

In combination with other mitigation measures, OvoControl P can provide a more comprehensive and effective long-term control program, the company said.
