Rockwell Labs Ltd
www.rockwelllabs.com
Rockwell Labs has introduced its new InTice Gelanimo Ant Bait. Several years in development, the unique, “rigid” gel matrix is designed to be an innovation in bait formulation technology, Rockwell Labs reports. The patent-pending matrix is similar to gelatin in consistency and has the very high moisture content insects crave but will not melt at operational temperatures. According to Rockwell Labs, experiments show that insects prefer the rigid gel matrix to a smooth, flowable gel as it appears to be easier for them to consume. In addition to the high moisture content, the bait doesn’t turn sticky or gooey and ants can feed over its entire surface without drowning, Rockwell says. InTice Gelanimo is packaged in a sealed, ready-to-use station containing 12 grams of bait. Once opened, the stations will remain effective for at least 45 days or until all the bait is consumed. InTice Gelanimo Ant Bait contains 3 percent borax and is packaged in boxes containing 27, 0.4-ounce stations.

Monzi has certified the use of its Leaf Defier family of products to include the prevention of insect infestation and breeding. According to the manufacturer, a recent study showed no sign in development of larvae and pupae in a Leaf Defier-protected gutter. As a result, Monzi now certifies its Leaf Defier family of products as a mosquito control method for gutters. Bird-B-Gone
www.birdbgone.com
Bird-B-Gone Mist is an advanced hazing system that releases a fine mist into the air to deter pest birds from large open spaces. The unit distributes methyl anthranilate, a grape extract proven to be effective in repelling pest birds, according to the manufacturer. The extract irritates the birds’ trigeminal nerve and mucous membranes through entry in the eyes, nose or mouth. Birds do not like the sensation caused by the extract and will take flight from the area being treated, the company says. Bird-B-Gone mist can be used in places that are generally hard to treat such as airfields, airline hangars, courtyards, landfills or parking lots. According to the manufacturer, the Bird-B-Gone Mist is unique because it features an LCD touch screen for programming. From the control unit, you can attach up to 64 misting “drop” units, controlling each one individually. Each drop station can cover an area of about 6,000 to 8,000 square feet, Bird-B-Gone says.

Bell Laboratories
www.belllabs.com
Pest management professionals and organic farmers now have a newly formulated bait to fight rodent infestations using Vitamin D3.
Bell Laboratories’ scientists have developed Terad3 Ag for rodent control in the organic production market and Terad3 for structural pest control. These Vitamin D3 baits kill anticoagulant-resistant rats and mice yet substantially reduce the risk of secondary poisoning and pose low toxicity to birds, according to Bell Labs.
Terad3 Ag is the first rodenticide registered by EPA for organic production. Terad3 Ag can be used in all types of organic production, including food processing, warehousing and storage and animal production. It is labeled for use in and around agricultural buildings, such as swine, poultry, cattle and dairy facilities. The Vitamin D3 block bait is a denser, tightly compacted 1-ounce extruded block with superb durability, Bell Labs reports. The highly weatherable Blox also incorporate an advanced preservation system, making the bait mold and moisture resistant.
For the structural pest control market, Bell offers Terad3 Blox and pellets. Terad3 uses the same formulation as Terad3 Ag so it has all the features and benefits of that product. Terad3 does not carry the ‘For Organic Production’ statement but has a broader label for use in multiple applications.
Terad3 is available now and Terad3 Ag will be available this fall.
