The FlyWeb light trap from Anstar Products (formerly Gardner Manufacturing) attracts flying insects by using energy-efficient UV light, the company says. Flying insects are drawn to the UV light and trapped on the web-like adhesive glue card. The trap has been designed for use in residential and commercial areas and its compact size and direct plug-in features make it ideal for almost any spot with a free outlet, the company reports. The FlyWeb light trap is an add-on sale opportunity for PCOs.

Whitmire Micro-Gen recently announced the new 960 Vector fruit fly trap, a low-profile, ready-to-use trap designed to help survey Drosophila populations within an account. This versatile trap has a patented food-grade liquid attractant developed in cooperation with Dr. Tom Baker from Iowa State University that quickly lures Drosophila (melanogaster, repleta, hydei and other species) to the trap. The 960 Vector fruit fly trap is engineered with a 10-hole venting lid to optimize Drosophila exposure to the vapors emitted from the liquid attractant. The removable lid provides easy monitoring and identification of catch. There are outer and inner spill-resistant rings built in to reduce accidental loss of the liquid attractant. The trap’s efficacy has been enhanced by using orange-colored plastic with a specially selected chemical composition. These attributes have been shown to significantly improve trap catch, the company says.

Gladiator from Agrisel USA is an EPA-approved neurotoxin for anticoagulant-resistant rodents. A single dose is lethal to rodents — including the Norway rat, the roof rat and the house mouse — but is safe for pets and animals, the manufacturer says. Formulated for higher palatability to ensure consumption, rats and mice stop eating additional bait and feeds. After consumption of Gladiator, results are achieved within one or two days. These immediate effects require 400 percent less bait for the same results, Agrisel reports. In addition, there is no secondary toxicity because Gladiator’s stop-feed action minimizes the amount of product rodents consume.

Spy Stick is available in 18- and 36-inch lengths, with either a .23-inch flexible or the .40-inch "Stay-Flex" shaft (bends, but holds its shape). Custom lengths also are available. Spy Stik features a wide 40-degree field of view, which allows pest management professionals to focus on areas as close as ¾-inch or across the room. It also comes with a sealed submersible cable. These new features include side injection and screw-in lower end assembly and its newest product, the A12-4 ml. The Advantage A10 and A12 product lines include the A10-10%, A12-4 ml, A12-1%, A12-2.5% and A12-5%. These include injection ratios from 1:4000 through 1:10. The A12-4 ml has an injection rate that varies from 1:4000 through 1:250 or 0.025% through 0.4%, and flow rates from 0.03 to 12 gallons per minute.
