ARROW EXTERMINATORS RECEIVES CONSUMERS’ CHOICE AWARD

Atlanta, GA. — Arrow Exterminators was recently awarded the Consumers’ Choice Award for excellence in Customer Satisfaction in Atlanta, Ga., for the second year in a row.

"It is very gratifying that Arrow Exterminators has won the coveted Consumers’ Choice Award for two consecutive years," said Emily Thomas, chief operating officer. "To be chosen by consumers is particularly important because it reflects Arrow’s continued and constant focus on our customers, and we appreciate the response they’ve given us."

KILLUM NAMED BRAZOSPORT BUSINESS LEADER OF THE YEAR

LAKE JACKSON, TEXAS — Killum Pest Control of Lake Jackson, Texas, was recognized as the Business Leader of the Year for the Brazosport area by the Brazosport Country Partnership and Brazosport Area Chamber of Commerce.

Corky Melass bought Killum as a one-man operation in 1973 and moved the business from Angleton to Lake Jackson in 1991. The operation has grown to include 16 employees and now services the entire county. Eric Melass is vice president of and also serves as president of the Greater Houston Pest Control Association. Brain Melass is in charge of termite sales and service.

Killum is a member of both the Angleton and Brazosport Chambers of Commerce, the Associated Builders and Contractors and is involved in community service in Brazoria County.

TRULY NOLEN GARNERS AWARDS

HALLANDALE BEACH, FLA. — Truly Nolen of America received several industry awards for its innovative advertising and marketing programs. The Tucson, Ariz.-based pest control company garnered seven regional ADDY and five People’s Choice awards.

"These awards represent the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition for creative excellence," said Barry Murray, Truly Nolen’s vice president of marketing. "To be recognized on the local and regional levels is important to us and reflects favorably on every one of our 69 branch offices."

Truly Nolen’s multi-media advertising campaign, designed in conjunction with the Fort Lauderdale-based Artemis Design Group, features its trademark 3-D yellow mouse car, which has been brought to life as a talking cartoon.

The ADDY Awards are governed and presented by the Washington, D.C.-based American Advertising Federation (AAF). With 60,000 entries, the ADDY awards are the nation’s largest advertising competition.

Truly Nolen won two gold ADDY awards and five silver ADDY awards. The People’s Choice awards were announced and presented at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and Truly Nolen received awards in five categories.

"When we attract such a favorable response from some of the nation’s elite advertising and marketing professionals, it encourages us with our efforts to get the Truly Nolen messages on pest control out to consumers," Murray said.
