1. How should I decide between a live trap vs. a kill trap?
For residential settings, the main factor is personal preference. Live traps are often easier to clean and more sanitary than kill traps. They can also be safer for homes with pets or small children, as they do not use toxic chemicals or poisons. However, it’s important to consider your ability to relocate live rodents after they’ve been captured. For commercial settings, this decision is guided by state regulations and guidelines.
2. Where should I release mice caught in live traps?
A general rule of thumb is to release mice at least two miles away from the catch location and other structures where humans frequent. The key is to find out where the mice have entered the building and to take preventative measures, or these rodents could be reentering on a daily basis.
3. What makes the Kness Pro-Ketch so effective?
The Pro-Ketch Multiple Catch Mousetrap is another standout in our lineup of no-kill mousetraps. The low-profile design takes advantage of the mice’s natural curiosity, luring them into the patented tunnel design that traps the mouse and keeps it secure. Once a mouse is caught, more will follow its scent into the trap. It’s also easy to clean and properly set, reducing your service time, saving you money.
4. Why would I use a glue trap in the Kness Pro-Ketch?
Our glue traps give an additional scent lure to the Pro-Ketch and Pro-Ketch Junior, and they’re a great alternative to snap traps in general. They’re non-toxic, require no bait or setting, can fit into tighter spaces and are typically cheaper and easier to dispose of.
5. Kness is coming up on its 100th anniversary. How do you think Kness has persevered all these years?
Our vision has always been “to build the world’s best mousetrap through quality and customer service.” Kness has been synonymous with exceptional innovations since the development of the Ketch-All in 1924. With only a 1 percent return rate due to defects, our key to success has been listening to and evolving with our customers as we seek to continually be Your Best Defense.
