A Fitting Tribute

Rosenberg recognition dinner raises $50,000 for Pest Management Foundation.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – It seems fitting that on the threshold of his retirement earlier this year, one of Bob Rosenberg’s final acts would be to serve as the guest of honor at a NPMA Pest Management Foundation gala held in conjunction with Legislative Day, an event long championed by the respected association executive.

The $1,000-a-plate, black-tie dinner — which after expenses raised more than $50,000 for the Norman Goldenberg Research Fund — featured a number of entertaining and moving tributes to Rosenberg by industry colleagues Chuck Tindol, Russ Ives, Kevin Pass and Billy Tesh.

In welcoming the invited guests to the W Hotel on a cool, rainy night in our nation’s capital, NPMA President-Elect Chuck Tindol said, “Tonight we take the opportunity to celebrate the career of Bob Rosenberg and support the Norman Goldenberg Research Fund. As many of you already know, Norman and Bob are more than just peers working for the betterment of our industry, they are long-time close friends. It is fitting, therefore, that at the end of their careers, our industry celebrates them together in such a powerful way.”

Immediate Past President Billy Tesh described Rosenberg as “a friend to everyone in the industry … from the smallest operator to the biggest companies in the world. He makes you feel special.” Turning to Rosenberg, he added, “We can’t ever thank you enough for what you did for the association.”

Former NPMA President Kevin Pass drew laughs with a few classic Bob Rosenberg stories, ending his entertaining comments with, “Would you ever believe that disheveled old guy in the back of the room would have led us so graciously the last three years?”

Finally, in making a heartfelt toast to Rosenberg as those in attendance stood, former NPMA President Norman Goldenberg said his long-time friend was “a great consensus builder” throughout his career who brought “the best out of all the people on the NPMA staff.”

The Pest Management Foundation is a charitable organization affiliated with the NPMA whose mission is to advance the pest management industry through education, research and training. The Norman Goldenberg Research Fund recognizes the veteran PMP’s extraordinary industry contributions which spans nearly 40 years.
