On average, full-time employees got about six paid holidays a year, found the 2022 PCT-NPMA Wage and Benefits survey. Non-holiday paid time off (PTO), which includes vacation and sick days, varied by years of service. Full-time workers employed less than one year typically earned 3.3 days of PTO, while those with 10 or more years of tenure got 12.3 days on average.
To help attract or retain full-time employees, PMPs said their companies added or improved PTO (33 percent) and paid holiday (29 percent) plans in the past two years.
American Pest Control lessened the time it takes for new employees to get one week of PTO. ABC Home & Commercial Services increased the rate at which employees can earn it. “That was a very popular thing for us to do. I’m trying to do that in an effort to keep the people I’ve got,” said Bobby Jenkins.
Fox Pest Control reminds employees to use this benefit. “Not only are employees encouraged to use PTO for vacations and time with their family and friends, but also to serve their community through acts of service,” said company co-founder Bryant White.
Sprague Pest Solutions lets workers cash out up to 40 hours of PTO per year to help fund travel or to cover the cost of unexpected financial hardships.
