BASF PROFESSIONAL PEST CONTROL
BASF Professional Pest Control recently announced the creation of Inside-Out, an innovative program for ant and cockroach control utilizing two of the industry’s most effective nonrepellent insecticides — Termidor for nonrepellent ant control outside, and Phantom for nonrepellent ant and cockroach control inside. According to BASF, Termidor provides the most effective low-dose control of outdoor ants available, and will significantly reduce nuisance ant callbacks. Termidor’s unique "Transfer Effect" provides a quick speed of kill —one to three days — but is slow-acting enough to ensure transfer throughout the population. Phantom is one of the most effective indoor ant and cockroach control products available — eliminating populations within days (not for use in food/feed areas of food/feed-handling establishments). Ants and cockroaches won’t detect Phantom as they repeatedly cross through the treated zone. It can be used alone or in conjunction with ant and cockroach baiting, for spot treatments or crack and crevice spray.

Terro-PCO from Nisus Corporation is a sweet solution against ants. The individual bait stations are as small as a business card, yet in a little more than a week, its contents can attract and kill hundreds of ants.
Nisus has just introduced Terro-PCO Liquid Ant Bait, a borate-based product that is the No. 1 liquid ant bait in its market, the company says. Its easy-to-use, no-mess packaging has shown to be effective in killing hundreds of ants at a time.
At the first sight of ants, the bait station can be placed either indoors or out. Terro-PCO Liquid Ant Bait contains an attractant which draws ants into the container. Ants will form a trail to the liquid bait and feed inside the clear container. Ants then take the liquid ant bait back to their nest and share it with the rest of the colony.
The liquid bait contains a 5.4 percent concentration of Borax, which, once in the ants’ system, will stop their metabolism, the company says. The ants cannot develop a resistance to the bait and the slow-acting formula allows much more of the colony to be affected than with other baits, Nisus Corp. reports.
As spring approaches and the temperature increases, ants become a much larger problem for homeowners. The bait works for both indoor and outdoor ant problems. Terro-PCO also comes in larger containers for outdoor bait station use and also can be used as a preventive treatment before ants even become a problem.

Cobble San Lucas, a new bait station from World Pest Control, is a little rock with a live hinge and has no visible entry holes. Only half of the bottom exists so "critters" crawl up and into the station, the company says. It targets ants and other crawling insects. Inside is a 4½-inch circle divided into four compartments for holding four (same or different) baits. In the center of the circle is a knockout for the placement of an anchor.
Like all of World Pest Control’s "rocks," Cobble San Lucas is hand colored. For an order of 100 or more the company can custom color the stations at no additional charge. This station was made for landscaping and to use at 10-foot intervals between the company’s larger multi-purpose bait stations. Instead of broadcasting baits, try placing them in this, World Pest Control suggests. It will keep bait dry and efficacious.
