Vicki Holst, northeast technical representative, Bell Laboratories, Madison, Wis., was honored by the New England Pest Management Association as its "Vendor of the Year." Holst was given the award during a recent meeting in Waltham, Mass.

Arthur M. Katz, president of Knockout Pest Control Inc., has been appointed to serve on the executive board of the Long Island chapter of the International Facilities Managers’ Association (IFMA). The goals of IFMA are to provide an opportunity for facility managers to keep abreast of new technology and services that will help them run their buildings more efficiently.

EcoSMART Technologies has named David Murphy vice president of the company’s commercial division. In addition, EcoSMART has hired Dr. Harlan Feese in a consulting capacity to serve as technical director for the commercial division.

The Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin has appointed Jeff Annis, president of Augusta, Ga.-based Advanced Services, to the Georgia Structural Pest Control Commission for a three-year term that began July 1. Annis has been president of Advanced Services Pest Control since 1995 and has been with the company since 1986. Previously, he worked for his family’s business, Annis Pest Control, until it was sold in 1985.

Ty Jones has been promoted to president of Dean’s Termite and Pest Control, Leesburg, Fla. Ty’s brother, Trent Jones, will assume the role of executive vice president.

Critter Control named Michael J. Dwyer president at the company’s annual meeting in January. Dwyer has been with the company since 1987 — first as a branch manager, then later as a franchisee before he sold his operation and joined the administrative staff at Critter Control as vice president of operations in 1999. Critter Control’s founder, Kevin D. Clark, remains with the company as chairman and CEO.

Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators Inc. recently announced the promotion of E. Ray Crim III to senior vice president. Crim has been in the pest control industry since 1972 and joined Arrow as director of corporate development in January 1991, overseeing more than 40 acquisitions for Arrow in that position. Crim became vice president of operations for Arrow’s Region V in 1999.

Massey Services Inc., named Ian Robinson director of business development. Robinson comes to Massey Services with more than 12 years experience in the service business.

Liphatech Inc. has hired Jay Horn, CPA, CMA, as the company’s new controller. Horn has extensive experience working as a finance executive primarily in the manufacturing industry. Most recently, he served as Internal Audit Manager for Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee.
