ASTON, Pa. — Hoffman’s Exterminating, Mantua, N.J., recently acquired Tri-County Pest Control, Aston, Pa. The acquisition was announced by The Aust Group, the exclusive financial advisor on the deal. The transaction closed on June 30th, 2021, and terms were not disclosed.
In 1980, Jim Murphy, president/CEO, formed Tri-County Pest Control. Murphy started in the pest control industry at age 16, working for a local, family-owned pest control firm prior to starting Tri-County. For 40 years the company has provided residential and commercial services to clients throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware.
Tri-County was recognized in 2020 as a Quality Pro business through National Pest Management Association (NPMA) and Murphy currently serves as the governor of the Eastern Region for Pennsylvania Pest Management Association (PPMA).
Murphy commented, “I want to thank The Aust Group for the professional handling of the sale of my company. To say this was a stressful time would be a bit of an understatement, but the backing I received from The Aust Group and the help compiling of the numerous documents necessary for the transaction to take place was invaluable.”
Stuart Aust, principal of The Aust Group, added, “Congratulations to Jim Murphy, Tri-County, and Hoffman’s on this acquisition. We are excited for the Hoffman’s team as this acquisition will grow their footprint in the greater Delaware Valley area.
