Now celebrating its 14th year, Syngenta Professional Products and Pest Control Technology magazine are proud to announce the winners of the 2002 Leadership Awards. This year’s class is an assemblage of industry professionals who have made great contributions to the industry on both the local and national levels.
Since 1989, the Leadership Awards have been presented annually to pest management professionals who uphold the highest standards of industry ethics and personal integrity. The Leadership Awards, co-sponsored by PCT magazine and Syngenta Professional Products, spotlight individuals who have contributed positively to the growth of the structural pest management industry, as well as established strong ties with fellow business leaders and customers in their communities.
The 10 recipients of this year’s Leadership Awards were recognized in a special Leadership Issue edition of PCT magazine and at an Oct. 17 reception at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando during the 2002 National Pest Management Association annual convention.
Winners of the 2002 Leadership Awards are: George and Lucy Conn, Conn Pest Control, Cottonwood, Ariz.; Charles Efird, Modern Exterminating Co., Jacksonville, N.C.; Peter Eldridge, Apex Pest Control, Merritt Island, Fla.; Roger Gold, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas; Victor Hammel, J.C. "This year, as well as throughout the past 14 years, it has been an honor and a privilege for PCT to share these stories with the pest control industry, stories characterized by extraordinary personal sacrifice; stories that shed light on our strengths and weaknesses as human beings...the best kinds of stories because they are a reflection of our humanity," said Dan Moreland, publisher of Pest Control Technology magazine.
"Syngenta Professional Products is proud to be associated with an event that recognizes and honors PMPs who are leading this industry and taking professional pest management to new levels," says Randy Moser, professional pest management market manager for Syngenta. "This class of recipients set the tone for the entire industry and lead us with integrity, dedication and a strong work ethic. They selflessly dedicate themselves to their companies, their communities and this industry, and Syngenta is pleased to be a part of such a committed group of people."
The night was capped by a special Leadership Award presented to Dan Moreland by Keelan Pulliam, group head of Syngenta Professional Products, as a surprise from the staffs of PCT and Syngenta.
