Truly Nolen Pest Control, Tucson, Ariz., was recently named one of Franchise Business Review’s 2022 Top 200 Franchise Opportunities. This is the 17th annual ranking of the 200 best franchise opportunities as rated by franchise business owners and the 23rd time Truly Nolen has been named to a best of the best list since 2006. A market research firm that performs independent surveys of franchisee satisfaction and employee engagement, Franchise Business Review provides rankings and awards for franchise companies based solely on franchisee satisfaction and performance. Truly Nolen was among more than 300 brands representing more than 30,000 franchise owners that participated in Franchise Business Review’s research. Franchisees were surveyed on 33 questions about their experience and satisfaction regarding their franchise systems, including training and support, operations, franchisor/franchisee relations and financial opportunity.
Environmental Pest Control, which services more than 100 cities in Ontario, Canada, was acquired by Terminix. EPC was founded in 1988 by Paul Terhart. Since then, it has grown to be one of the largest privately held pest control companies in Ontario, serving residential homes and commercial buildings including health care facilities, food establishments, hotels, churches, schools and day care centers. Terhart, who oversees day-to-day operations, graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College and specialized in environmental pest management. When founding EPC, he championed the concept of providing pest control with minimal pesticide exposure, and for more than three decades, the company has guaranteed eco-friendly services. Michael Benedetto serves in executive, managerial and fiduciary capacities as director of operations at EPC. He will remain as general manager. Paul Giannamore and Franco Villanueva-Meyer of The Potomac Company acted as exclusive financial advisers to EPC in this transaction. Terms were not disclosed.
The Bug Master, an Austin, Texas-based commercial and residential pest control company, announced the acquisition of Preston Pest Control, San Antonio, Texas. This is the company’s second acquisition in the last five years. “We’re looking forward to expanding our footprint into the San Antonio market to deliver the same level of service and quality to homeowners and businesses alike,” said Dauphin Ewart, The Bug Master CEO.
