Quick Kill Exterminating Co., Glenview, Ill., celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2015, and in February the firm moved to an expanded facility. Quick Kill has 13 employees with nine service routes, servicing Chicago’s Northshore and Northwest suburbs. Founded by CEO Mark Payne and his wife Susan, the firm started with Mark running a route and Susan answering phones and booking jobs from their home (while also raising their five children). Quick Kill has developed into a leading local company. The second generation, including sons Tim and Jon, daughter Rachel and son-in-law Mike at the helm, will allow the firm to continue quality service for years to come. Mark, 56, says he is in no hurry to retire and enjoys working with clients and solving their pest problems, as well as managing the business.
