FMC's CB-40 Insecticide: New, Water-Based Aerosol
FMC Professional Solutions, a business unit of FMC Corporation, recently announced the introduction of CB-40™ insecticide, a new water-based aerosol with an extensive spectrum of pests and application sites on the label – including direct application to mattresses for bed bug control.
CB-40 is designed to deliver the performance of an oil-based aerosol product, but was formulated with water as the primary carrier, providing effective control in an environmentally sensitive manner.
According to Chris Bowley, product manager, FMC Professional Solutions, CB-40 provides pest management professionals (PMPs) with a valuable tool to add to their bed bug control armory.
“A water-based aerosol gives PMPs a solution that can be used directly in the areas where bed bugs are most commonly discovered, such as mattresses and upholstered furniture without an oily residue that can create staining and potential odor problems.” Bowley said. “In addition, CB-40 has a broad label that permits treatment of pests in many environments, including applications to food-handling areas.”

Bedlam Provides Quick Knockdown of Bed Bugs
Bedlam® aerosol insecticide from MGK® provides quick knockdown and kill of bed bugs and their eggs, according to the manufacturer. It also reduces the egg hatch in both susceptible and some resistant strains of bed bug eggs. Controlling bed bug eggs is extremely important because surviving eggs often are perceived as treatment failure and a cause of callbacks.
The non-irritating, water-based Bedlam formula can be used wherever bed bugs hide and travel — from mattresses, box springs, fabric, to furniture and luggage. In addition, it won’t stain water-safe fabrics or surfaces, according to MGK. For hard-to-reach locations, an extension tube can be attached to the nozzle to apply in cracks and crevices, bed frames, headboards, baseboards and other potential bed bug harborage sites. And Bedlam kills bed bugs for up to two weeks on wood, ceramic, and carpet, MGK says.
