ANTIBES, Juan-les-Pins, France — Approximately 200 pest management professionals from 35 countries traveled to the Juan-les-Pins Conference Center on the French Riviera in June to attend the Global Summit of Pest Management Services for Public Health and Food Safety.
The one-of-a-kind event featuring speakers representing global brands, academia, trade media, regulatory agencies and the structural pest control industry was co-sponsored by the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) and the Confederation of European Pest Management Associations (CEPA).
In his opening remarks, NPMA CEO Bob Rosenberg described the Global Pest Summit as “one of the most historic meetings in the history of the pest management industry,” a theme reinforced by Roland Higgins, director general of CEPA, and Bertrand Montmoreau, CEPA chair.
“Our call for speakers produced an impressive array of industry experts and other stakeholders,” Higgins said. “Together with the Global Summit’s 200 participants from 35 countries they explored the organization of pest management services in the changing environment of EU and USA regulation, customer requirements and third-party certification. It was a major exercise in knowledge sharing.”
“We are partners in pest management,” Montmoreau added. “We have to work together.”
