BASF Pest Control Solutions

www.pestcontrol.basf.us
The BASF Pest Control Solutions business announced Trelona ATBS (Advance Termite Bait System) is now available for use to control termites. Trelona ATBS delivers certainty and flexibility to pest management professionals who want control, predictability and price assurance as part of a successful termite baiting system, BASF says.

Trelona Compressed Termite Bait, with the new active ingredient novaluron, provides faster termite elimination and uses less bait than previous active ingredients, the manufacturer reports. Trelona ATBS offers flexibility in selling either the Trelona ATBS Monitoring System or the Trelona ATBS Direct Baiting System to homeowners. In addition, PMPs who are already using ATBS and have existing accounts that haven’t had termite activity for a year can begin using Trelona ATBS and benefit from a six-month inspection interval, according to the company.

Trelona ATBS gives PMPs the opportunity to have greater control of their business and ability to grow and increase their profits, BASF says. The Trelona ATBS model allows PMPs to control, own and manage their baiting program without requirements to share their customer information, according to the company.

BASF says another significant benefit to PMPs is that Trelona Compressed Termite Bait is sold as an agency product through BASF distribution partners, which ensures consistent pricing. This takes the upfront guesswork out of bait costs, allowing PMPs to better understand the cost per home from the start of each project.

Syngenta Professional Pest Management

www.syngentapmp.com
Arilon insecticide from Syngenta Professional Pest Management has received EPA approval for uses on more than 20 pests in residential and commercial settings. The expanded label (not approved for use in California) gives PMPs more flexibility for controlling a variety of pests with a non-pyrethroid, non-neonicotinoid chemistry, the company said. Arilon is a sprayable oxadiazine. The active ingredient in Arilon, indoxacarb, can differentiate between target insects and non-target insects, Syngenta says. Its mode of action combines non-repellency and a slight delay in insect mortality, so Arilon can be shared among target insects. This helps ensure comprehensive control in 24 to 48 hours, Syngenta reports. The following pests have been added to the Arilon label: beetles, boxelder bugs, carpenter bees, centipedes, earwigs, fleas, flies, grasshoppers, kudzu bugs, millipedes, pantry pests (including granary weevil beetles and saw-toothed grain beetles), silverfish, springtails, stink bugs (including brown marmorated stink bugs) and wasps.

In addition, the expanded Arilon label allows the product to be applied indoors as a crack-and-crevice application and in food-handling establishments (see product label), and outdoors as a perimeter application up to a flexible 10-foot band. With its new label, Arilon is ideal for residential high-volume power spray. By using Arilon with a higher volume of water, PMPs can provide customers with comprehensive coverage at a cost-effective price, the manufacturer says. It is also applicable for commercial uses as a standalone treatment or in conjunction with baits for cleanouts without disrupting operations.

Central Life Sciences

www.zenivex.com
Central Life Sciences recently announced Zenivex adulticide has received approval in California from EPA for mosquito control efforts over cropland and pastureland.

Zenivex adulticide contains a unique type of pyrethroid (etofenprox) and does not contain PBO. It is a non-ester pyrethroid, which makes it especially effective against adult mosquitoes, including those resistant to organophosphates, the firm reports.

As a result of the approval, Zenivex adulticide may now be applied in California where crops and mosquitoes converge (including row, tree, fruit, citrus, rice fields, pasture and other areas where agricultural enterprises take place) or to areas where drift over cropland could occur. Zenivex adulticide can be applied to these areas by either ground or aerial application following label rates and directions.

The crop approval in California applies to both formulations of Zenivex adulticide, including Zenivex E20 and Zenivex E4 RTU. Both are oil-based formulations designed for use in Ultra Low Volume (ULV) applications. Featuring the active ingredient etofenprox, Zenivex adulticide offers quick, permanent knockdown of adult mosquitoes.
