BASF Pest Control Solutions
The new Roguard Rodent Management System (RMS) is a rodent bait station designed to be quick and easy to clean, according to manufacturer BASF Pest Control Solutions. Roguard RMS was created to improve the way rodent control is performed, and to make the technician’s role of servicing stations easier, and more efficient. Roguard is designed without walls, wells or troughs and made for one-hand operation — saving a PMP about 30 seconds per station, according to the manufacturer.
Roguard stations use Prescription Treatment brand Sorexa Block, a new rodenticide with a wax block formulation. Sorexa is fast-acting, highly palatable to mice and rats, and ideal for residential and commercial markets, BASF reports. In addition to baiting, the Roguard RMS can be used with a mouse trapping station, i.e., the Roguard Internal Mouse Trap (IMT). The Roguard IMT can be used for just trapping or for trapping and baiting at the same time in the Roguard RMS.
Additionally, starting in April, PMPs can win a trip to the Daytona 500 by entering the Roguard video contest sponsored by BASF. BASF is looking for short and unique video clips of PMPs using the Roguard RMS station. To learn more about the contest visit www.pestcontrol.basf.us.

Bayer Environmental Science
Maxforce Quantum, the newest ant bait from Bayer Environmental Science, delivers broad spectrum ant control and remains effective for up to three months — from one quarterly service visit to the next — the company says. According to Bayer, the product’s extended residual is supported by its hydroscopic formula, which retains moisture long after traditional gel baits dry out. Formulated with a low dose of imidacloprid, Quantum attracts ants with its "Simply Irresistible" bait matrix and features the exclusive "Maxforce Domino Effect" for long-term control. Maxforce Quantum is designed to deliver high performance results while maintaining the effective, low-impact pest control that pest management professionals expect of Maxforce and require for sound IPM programs. Bayer says Maxforce Quantum is effective against many ant species, including Argentine ants, odorous house ants, Pharaoh ants, ghost ants, crazy ants and black garden ants.

LG Life Sciences
Lambdastar 9.7% CS with EcoCap Technology has been registered in California and New York. Additionally, the company says, the product requires no Prop 65 statements in California.
According to LG Life Sciences, EcoCap Technology is a new, two-layer, vegetable oil microencapsulation process. The product may at first appear separated, but a few shakes of the bottle yields a milky solution throughout. The company says EcoCap formulations flow freely from the bottle, mix easily, allow for triple rinsing of bottles and spray tanks, and contain 0 VOCs. The company notes that by using vegetable oil instead of petroleum products in its formulation, it is helping the industry take small steps to reduce the use of petroleum byproducts and the reliance on foreign oil.

The Minigard Bait Station has been modified with a "peg" to hold wax block and pasta-type rodenticides in place more securely. Also, each case of Minigard Bait Stations now contains service record labels for easy record keeping. Minigard Bait Stations are designed to be durable and economical as well as easy and safe to use. The bait stations can also be used with insecticide gels for control of roaches, ants, silverfish and crickets, the company says. The Minigard is an open-ended bait station featuring a small, compact design for use in a variety of locations, such as behind hot water heaters, refrigerators and washers and dryers; along pipes; in tight spaces; and in other out-of-the-way areas to prevent children, dogs, cats, etc., from getting into the bait.
