Syngenta
Pre-measured packs of Optigard Flex non-repellent insecticide are now available from Syngenta. The new 1.62-fluid-ounce individual packs are distributed in containers of 20 packets.
The pre-measured Optigard Flex package streamlines the application process, saving time and increasing accuracy, according to Syngenta. The packs contain the same formulation and strength of the active ingredient, thiamethoxam, and cost the same per ounce as the existing tip-and-measure bottle.
The Optigard Flex label has been expanded on the packs to allow perimeter applications up to 3 feet up and 7 feet away from the structure and for use as a spot treatment to control subterranean termites. The unit dose packs provide pest management professionals with flexible application options and are ideally suited to use with backpack sprayers, according to the manufacturer. Once used, Optigard Flex pre-measured packs can be disposed of in standard trash. The outer jug containing the 20 packets is a non-refillable container that should be triple rinsed after use.
Optigard Flex may be applied indoors and outdoors with no limitations on application timing. Thiamethoxam is readily transferred throughout social insect colonies by foraging pests. The insecticide controls a broad spectrum of pests and it also can be used as a soil drench or on plant foliage to control honeydew-producing insects, the company says.

Bayer Environmental Science
Maxforce Complete Granular Insect Bait from Bayer Environmental Science features the active ingredient hydramethylnon and a formulation designed to enhance bait acceptance, the company reports. The bait matrix in Maxforce Complete is specially designed to take advantage of the nutritional preferences of a broad range of perimeter pests, including ants, cockroaches, crickets and silverfish, the company says. Granules within the formula contain different combinations of food ingredients. Maxforce Complete also features a scientifically calibrated range of particle sizes, designed to accommodate ants and perimeter pests of all sizes. By focusing on preferred nutritional elements, the bait is designed to be more attractive to target perimeter pests.
The product features the company’s "Domino Effect," a delayed action kill whereby foraging pests share the active ingredient, ultimately eliminating entire pest populations, Bayer says. The bait offers long-term residual control, convenient application and is labeled for use both indoors and outdoors.

Rockwell Labs Ltd
New InTice Gelanimo Ant Bait is available in a nine-pack display box. The boxes are ideal for PMPs with storefronts or display shelf space, the company notes. The nine-pack is also a good alternative to the 27-pack bulk case for those PMPs who prefer to keep less inventory on hand. InTice Gelanimo Ant Bait with its "rigid" gel matrix has been several years in development. The patent-pending matrix is similar to gelatin in that it is "cuttable," the company says, and has the high moisture content insects crave, but will not melt at operational temperatures. According to the manufacturer, experiments show that insects prefer a gel they can cut more than a smooth, flowable gel as it appears to be easier for them to consume.
Rockwell Labs says the bait doesn’t turn sticky or gooey like liquid baits can, so ants can feed over the entire surface of the bait without drowning. InTice Gelanimo is conveniently packaged in a sealed, ready-to-use station containing 0.4 ounce of bait. PMPs simply use a pen or similar object to push out the tab over the small hole where ants will enter and exit the station. Once opened, the stations will remain effective for at least 45 days, or until all the bait is consumed. The station is designed to be used in any orientation with no drips, spills or mess. Part of Rockwell’s Green Zone line of products, InTice Gelanimo Ant Bait contains 3 percent borax.

Innovative Pest Control Products
The Antopia R2 Bait Station from Innovative Pest Control Products is a user-friendly device that allows pest management professionals to securely place a large volume of ant bait in a spill-resistant container that offers additional protection from mechanical abrasion and ultraviolet light, the company reports.
Antopia R2 holds 7 ounces of liquid or granular bait in a spill-resistant configuration, or up to 14 ounces of bait when spill resistance is not a primary concern. The large volume means less frequent refilling and longer periods between services. The translucence of the bait station makes it easy to see when more bait needs to be added. The green ABS cover protects the bait station from weed wackers and curious animals. Other features include:
Antopia is a blow-molded station with a locking fill port.
Antopia combines the bait reservoir and anchor in one piece.
Antopia is constructed for multi-season use out of thick HDPE.
Antopia protects the bait from the environment and the environment from the bait, which is becoming more important as concerns about pesticide contamination of ground water increase, Innovative Pest Control Products says.
There are two Antopia bait stations and 1 quart of Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait in each Antopia 21 R2 box. The Antopia R2 bait station is also available in a 12-count bulk pack.
