Rockwell Labs Ltd
Rockwell’s original InTice Sweet Ant Gel has been replaced with the company’s new InTice Smart Ant Gel, billed as a superior formula by Rockwell.
According to the company, InTice Smart Ant Gel has better initial acceptance by ants and doesn’t develop a "skin," so ants can keep feeding even as the bait dries. Studies also demonstrate superior ability to kill queens, Rockwell says. The product features thick consistency designed not to drip, and it also offers an improved label, the company says.
For a limited time, PMPs can contact Rockwell for a free sample. PMPs are advised to request the six-pack box when ordering from distributors, to get the best price on a per-syringe basis. Each syringe comes with a plunger.

FMC Professional Solutions
FMC Professional Solutions has launched Talstar XTRA granular insecticide, the newest addition to its line of Talstar products. Talstar XTRA combines the proven residual of Talstar with the speed of a new active ingredient, zeta-cypermethrin, FMC says.
The product is designed to offer quick and long-term control of a wide range of surface feeding pests, including the red imported fire ant (Solenopsis invicta).
According to FMC, when used as directed, Talstar XTRA eliminates fire ant colonies in four hours or less, and often in as little as minutes.
Combining the proven molecule in Talstar with the fast-acting zeta-cypermethrin, Talstar XTRA features an optimized, patent-pending formulation that quickly disrupts the insect’s nervous system, FMC says. Furthermore, the product’s unique, dense sand granule enables the product to penetrate mulch and thatch to reach many surface feeding pests, yet appear invisible due to its small size.
Talstar XTRA granular insecticide is labeled for use against most ants, (including fire ants), chinch bugs, fleas, ticks, mole crickets, crane flies and many other lawn pests. The new granular product is approved for broadcast lawn, perimeter and mound treatments, making it a versatile and valuable component of an ongoing pest control program, FMC reports.
Talstar XTRA is sold in a 25-pound bag and the granules can be broadcast across almost 11,000 sq. ft., or more than 60 fire ant mounds per bag.

Bayer Environmental Science
Bayer Environmental Science announced the availability of Maxforce Quantum, a new low-impact ant bait that remains effective for up to three months — from one quarterly service visit to the next. The company reports Maxforce Quantum provides fast and effective broad spectrum control against many ant species, including Argentine, Pharaoh, ghost, black garden, odorous house and crazy.
The key to Maxforce Quantum’s long-lasting residual lies in its hygroscopic formula, which retains and absorbs moisture, Bayer says. Quantum’s clear, odorless formula will remain attractive for up to three months and in many outdoor environments, the bait will actually absorb moisture, adding to its effectiveness. Formulated with a low dose of imidacloprid, Quantum attracts ants with its Simply Irresistible bait matrix and features the exclusive Domino Effect, a delayed action kill whereby foraging ants bring the bait back to the nest and feed it to the queen(s) and larvae, ultimately eliminating entire colonies, Bayer reports.
Maxforce Quantum can be applied as a crack and crevice or spot treatment from the 120-gram dropper bottle. PMPs also can make their own bait stations because each case of Quantum comes with 120 Maxforce Refillable Buffet Bait Stations. These bait stations work well as vessels for Quantum as they further extend the attractiveness of the bait by protecting it from the elements, are easy to load and inspect and are refillable for future use.
