PMPs in New York can now buy FenvaSatr EcoCap, as the product recently received New York state registration.
The Nifty Fifty program requires PMPs earn 50 points by purchasing enough cases of one or a mixture of the three currently available LG products from Jan. 1 to Oct. 31, 2011. As soon as companies achieve the 50 points, they can obtain a 42-inch LG TV.

The Zoëcon Professional Products division of Central Life Sciences announced Zenprox EC is approved for control of stink bugs. Stink bugs are among the more than 25 insects the broad-spectrum contact-kill product controls.
Zenprox EC can be employed as a tank mix partner with Gentrol IGR or Precor IGR. Zoëcon recommends using Zenprox EC for indoor control and Mavrik Perimeter outdoors. The broad-spectrum pyrethroid is approved for use on trees, shrubs and perimeters of structures.
For control of stink bugs, Zoëcon recommends a ratio of 2 fluid ounces of Zenprox EC per gallon of water. Zenprox EC is available in a 16-ounce squeeze-and-measure bottle and comes six bottles per case. It mixes easily with water and may be applied with most application equipment. Mavrik Perimeter is available in an 8-ounce bottle.
The active ingredient in Zenprox EC, Etofenprox, is non-repellent. Approved for indoor use, Zenprox EC can be used as a broadcast, spot or crack-and-crevice treatment to control pests in homes, hotels, schools and commercial properties.

EPA has accepted new label directions for Maxforce FC Magnum Roach Killer Bait Gel. Magnum is designed to deliver fast knockdown and control of cockroaches, and is now labeled for control of pantry pests, application into the new Maxforce Refillable Buffet Stations and a new, lower application rate for cockroaches.
Maxforce FC Magnum's new label offers control of exposed adult stages of stored product pest beetles. Seventeen species have been added to the label, including dermestid beetles, drugstore beetles, saw-toothed grain beetles, red flour beetles, warehouse beetles and rice weevils. Bayer says this label addition provides PMPs with a unique bait that attracts stored product pests and can be applied in voids, cracks and crevices, and behind and under cupboards and other difficult-to-reach areas where both cockroaches and stored product pests often hide, killing multiple pests with just one product.
The new label also allows the use of Maxforce FC Magnum with Maxforce Refillable Buffet Stations. This further extends the attractiveness of bait by protecting it from the elements, eliminates bait absorption into porous surfaces and enables PMPs to remove bait placements from accounts if necessary, according to Bayer. Now sold separately in boxes of 48, the economical stations are designed to be easy to fill and inspect, and are effective for both indoor and outdoor use for cockroaches and ants, Bayer says. Finally, Magnum's lower application rate for maintenance control of cockroaches reduces the label rate and material costs in half, saving PMPs both time and money.

Bird Barrier/Pest Barrier
PMPs are accustomed to attracting rodents into bait stations and traps. Now there is an new product, Rat-Out Gel, which deters them and can be used to exclude, block passage or to corral animals into a specific zone. Rat-Out Gel is non-toxic, all-food grade ingredients and qualifies for an exemption from EPA registration under FIFRB 25(b). Bird Barrier says it works in green programs and has few limitations for appropriate use (it is not recommended for placement in areas where small children could accidentally come in contact with it) without fear of harm or injury.
Rat-Out Gel is a proprietary blend of garlic oil (for smell) and white pepper (for physical irritation). Field trials have proven that rodents generally avoid the gel without touching it, Bird Barrier says. However, in more aggressive infestations where it is touched, the pests are treated to an uncomfortable warming sensation. Rat-Out Gel provides immediate, temporary exclusion that is cost effective and reliable. Temporary because, at some point, permanent exclusion should be installed or Rat-Out Gel reapplied.
Rat-Out is supplied in 10-ounce caulking tubes that fit into standard caulking guns and are sold by the case of 10.

Bell Laboratories' new T1 Mouse is designed for fast-service, lower-risk mouse control in residential accounts — child and dog resistant, pre-baited and effective on house mice.
Available to PMPs in fall, this pre-baited, tamper-resistant bait station will be unveiled at PestWorld 2011 in mid-October.
T1 Mouse is pre-baited, saving PMPs valuable service time. Technicians simply place the bait station where mice travel and let the 1 oz. extruded bait blox do its work. Because the station is disposable, it can be left at the account and thrown away when the bait is consumed, eliminating the need for return visits. And, T1 Mouse is child and dog resistant, a key factor in using it in residential accounts.
"T1 Mouse gives PMPs and residents a degree of comfort when baiting in homes, apartments and other residential accounts," noted Suzy Pursell, Bell's product manager. "We've built in a lot of features to make this mouse control tool residential-friendly."
The 1-oz extruded bait blox contains the acute active ingredient, bromethalin, which kills house mice in a day or two. With bromethalin, house mice stop feeding after consuming a toxic dose, plus there is low risk of secondary poisoning.
T1 Mouse, while ideal for use indoors, can also be used outdoors within 50 feet of buildings accessible to children and dogs.
Sold in 1- and 4-pack cartons, T1 Mouse is a "great way to boost walk-in sales in distributor showrooms," Pursell pointed out. "It's also a convenient product for use in residences by vector control programs in city and county municipalities.

New from Avtron is the Bedbug Chaser, a compact portable convective heater designed to kill heat-sensitive insects, especially bed bugs. According to Avtron, the ultra-efficient heater delivers up to 20 kW of forced-convection heat from a lightweight, easy-to-handle unit.
The company says the Bedbug Chaser uses a heat transfer process that creates 360-degree coverage to ensure interior spaces are heated evenly and quickly. Furthermore the unit accelerates air flow on three axes simultaneously, forcing air circulation to every part of the space being treated, Avtron says. For ease of handling, the Bedbug Chaser incorporates lightweight aluminized steel construction and dolly-style wheels. The heater is rated for continuous operation at more than double the BTU output of other units in its size range, Avtron says, and features fully rated quick-connect load terminals. The Bedbug Chaser weighs 71 lbs. and was designed to be smaller, lighter and more powerful than similar heaters on the market. It is also built to withstand years of service, the company notes.
