Dow AgroSciences
Dow AgroSciences has introduced the latest innovation to the Sentricon Termite Colony Elimination System — Always Active technology. A new bait matrix, annual monitoring and LID (Locate and Identify) technology combine to present a revolutionary termite bait system.
In April, the U.S. EPA granted Dow AgroSciences annual monitoring for Recruit HD termite bait. It is the only termite bait to receive a label that allows annual monitoring. The Sentricon System with Always Active technology can help Authorized Operators increase route efficiency and reduce labor costs since they are only required to service Sentricon stations on a yearly basis, Dow AgroSciences reports.
LID technology is a labor-saving enhancement that helps technicians service sites with no worries about missing Sentricon stations covered by grass or landscaping. LID technology uses a radio frequency identification (RFID) sensor in the top cap to give each Sentricon station a unique identity. Scanning a top cap is done with an Interrogator device. It helps technicians locate the Sentricon stations without giving false readings due to metal objects in the soil.
Recruit HD termite bait contains a bait matrix that extends durability throughout all soil conditions. It also contains 2.3 times more active ingredient than Recruit IV termite bait. In termite palatability tests, Recruit HD termite bait was preferred over wood and became even more preferable and palatable over time, the company says. Recruit HD termite bait is immediately available to termites in every Sentricon station at installation. Termites can begin feeding on Recruit HD termite bait as soon as they find the Sentricon station and then share the bait with other termites.

FMC Professional Solutions
A new non-repellent liquid insecticide formulation will be available in January from FMC Professional Solutions. Transport Mikron insecticide provides fast-acting, long-lasting control of bed bugs, ants, crickets and more than 30 other pests, including pyrethroid-resistant pests, the manufacturer reports.
A combination of acetamiprid and bifenthrin, Transport Mikron delivers residual protection lasting up to 90 days or longer, depending on the pest. The new liquid product often attains 100 percent control within 24 hours after treatment, FMC says. Transport Mikron’s smaller particle size allows the active ingredients to easily penetrate an insect’s cuticle, delivering fast knockdown, the firm says. In addition, Transport Mikron is a stable formulation that remains in suspension without the need for constant agitation, even after extended periods of non-use.
Applied indoors as a spot, crack-and-crevice, pinstream, coarse or low pressure spray treatment, Transport Mikron also can be applied outdoors as a pinstream, spot, crack-and-crevice or perimeter spray. Transport Mikron can be applied up to 10 feet out from the foundation and three feet up on structures. Additionally, Transport Mikron has no restrictions on the number of treatments per year.
Effective against all three genera of termites, Reticulitermes, Heterotermes and Coptotermes, Transport Mikron often eliminates all termite activity within 30 days of application. In addition, the product works well in large spray rigs, including those with in-line dosing systems, according to the manufacturer.

TEMP-AIR
Temp-Air has introduced an upgraded expandable, wireless temperature monitoring system. Real-time, graphical temperature monitoring is an integral part of the Thermal Remediation heat treatment process of bringing heat, moving air, and monitoring and recording temperatures. The system includes a netbook installed with proprietary temperature recording software, wireless signal devices for transmission up to 1,000 feet, and up to 100 wireless temperature sensors, all housed in a heavy-duty, water- and impact-resistant case.
The system’s data can be used to identify hot and cold spots in the treated area and regulate and control hot air distribution. Data can be exported to assure customers that overheating did not occur and verify that target temperatures were achieved.

BASF Pest Control Solutions
http://pestcontrol.basf.us/Termidordry
BASF Pest Control Solutions’ Termidor DRY Termiticide can be used to treat drywood and subterranean termites, in virtually any wood, almost anywhere, with its patented Microllose-based formulation, the company reports.
Termidor DRY is for use on gallery treatments inside structures and on new "off-structure" treatment sites, including trees, utility poles, fencing, decking, railroad trestles, piers, beams and other structural or landscape timbers.
For termites, Termidor DRY looks and tastes good, BASF says. Microllose is the BASF purified microcrystalline cellulose matrix, an appetizing (more so than wood itself) termite food source. Termidor DRY is practical and comes in small, prepackaged, ready-to-use vials, which generally treat two-to-three average-sized houses depending on termite infestation. Applied with precision directly to termite galleries in wood (or carton nests or shelter tubes) in or away from structures, Termidor DRY quickly kills termites and is transferred among termites via the Termidor "Transfer Effect."

AP&G
Catchmaster’s new Bedbug Detection System (BDS) is designed to offer hotel, hospitality and residence-based industries an innovative yet passive detection system that monitors for bed bugs on a large scale as part of a proactive inspection/intervention strategy. The company says BDS overcomes the problems of standard insect glue traps by utilizing a patented adhesive dot matrix technology and physical design to capture specimens. The system was designed to be economically feasible for use in large-scale applications, such as hotels and apartment buildings. According to AP&G, the affordability, discreet nature and flexibility of the BDS system allow it to be used almost anywhere, including multi-unit dwellings, hotels, hospitals, military posts and more.
When strategically placed throughout the target areas, BDS monitors act as both interceptor traps, by creating an adhesive barrier when used around bedposts, and as passive monitors, to provide early detection in sheltered locations, thus allowing chemical treatments to be limited to fewer areas and minimizing the potential for pesticide misuse, the company said. Further, the company noted, intervention is key to a successful IPM strategy because it is most effective when populations are low, hence the value of effective monitoring.

Woodstream
Woodstream now offers the new Victor Kill & Seal Mouse Trap. This patented hygienic trap quickly and humanely kills the mouse and then seals in all the contaminants, biohazards and odors, the company says. According to Woodstream, the catch is not visible. Kill & Seal’s totally sealed design makes it the perfect control device for use in sensitive areas such as schools, offices, health care facilities, day care centers and other similar locations. Just put attractant on the underside of the bait hatch, pull the red lever down to set catch mechanism, and place trap in area of mouse activity. When the mouse is caught the red door closes to indicate a catch. The entire trap is then disposed of to prevent contact with the catch or its contaminants. Victor’s Kill & Seal model M265 comes two traps per box.

J.T. Eaton & Co.
Little Pete, the newest addition to the Repeater family, is a slim, economical, low-profile, multiple-catch live mouse trap that’s ideal for high-traffic areas, J.T. Eaton says. Its safety-folded edges reduce cut fingers. The trap, which, at 3-9/16 inches wide is 55 percent narrower than standard multiple-catch mouse traps, is available with or without windows, and in galvanized, white powdercoated or black powdercoated finish. It’s also available as a private-label product. In addition, Little Pete is being launched with new Universal Glue Boards which fit all Repeater-type multiple-catch traps, but feature perforations so they can be split to fit the Little Petes. There are voids of glue where the perforations are, so they split easily. The glue is professional-strength, and holds the toughest rodents, J.T. Eaton says.
