Whitmire Micro-Gen recently announced the promotion of several of its employees. Gary E. Moneyham has been named director of customer development. In this position, Moneyham develops strategies and works closely with targeted pest control companies throughout the United States. He will focus his activities on the new Prescription Treatment systems in residential and commercial accounts. Moneyham has been with Whitmire Micro-Gen for nearly 12 years, most recently as education and training manager.

Fred Webb has been promoted to the position of director of sales. Webb has assumed responsibility for supervising all of Whitmire Micro-Gen’s regional technical specialists throughout the country, as well as executing programs involving PCOs and distributors. Previously Webb served as regional director of sales for the western United States.

Also promoted was Steve Racioppe, who has been named director of research and development for Whitmire Micro-Gen. In this role, Racioppe directs product development and research in both the structural pest control and horticulture industries. These activities include market and product development, regulatory affairs and research. And James H. Shaffer Jr. has been named a market manager for a portion of Whitmire Micro-Gen’s Prescription Treatment product line. Formerly the regional director of sales for the eastern U.S., Schaffer has assumed the responsibilities for marketing the company’s aerosols, flea control products and pheromones.

Rhône-Poulenc Ag Company has appointed Manny Martinez business manager of the Professional Pest Control Group. The new position marks the company’s decision to enter into the professional pest control market. Previously, Martinez was with Sandoz Agro Inc. of Des Plaines, Ill., where he served for five years as business manager for the Professional Pest Control, Vector and Specialty Products Groups. He has more than 12 years of business management and marketing experience.

Waterbury Companies has appointed Dr. Mohamed Rachadi vice president, research and development. In this position, Rachadi is responsible for the coordination, research and development of innovative pest management technologies. He also manages the Technical Services, Education and Training Units. Previously, Rachadi was a regional technical specialist with Whitmire Micro-Gen.

Zeneca Professional Products has announced several new additions and promotions. Don Breeze was recently appointed sales lead/national sales manager for Zeneca’s pest control line. Previously, Breeze held the position of sales lead for Zeneca’s cereal and oilseeds team and was instrumental in the growth of the business to the No. 1 share leader over the past five years. Todd Howard Brown was named territory sales representative for the states of Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. Brown, who previously worked as a regional technical specialist with Whitmire Research Laboratories, Inc., will be responsible for sales and support of Zeneca’s pest control products. Jeff Alvis was recently promoted to pest control market manager. Before being promoted, Alvis had been a Zeneca sales representative in California and the Mid-South. He has also worked as a sales representative for a pest control distributor and previously owned his own pest control company.

Al Augustine has joined Dodson Bros. Exterminating Co. Inc. of Lynchburg, Va., as a corporate marketing manager. Augustine is a long-time media veteran, having spent 20 years in the sales, news management and “on-air” divisions of various radio and television stations. Prior to joining Dodson Bros., Augustine worked for several radio and television stations in the Lynchburg/Roanoke, Va. area.

The Georgia Pest Control Association recently elected new officers at its summer meeting. Tom Diederich of Orkin was named president, Bryan Bowman of York Pest Control was named vice president and Rick Bell of Arrow Exterminators was named secretary/treasurer. Immediate Past President Robert “Bubba” Nolan was named chairman of the board.

Wright and Percy Insurance, a privately owned insurance company based in Baton Rouge, La., announced the addition of Dennis Vidrine. Vidrine will serve as a program manger for the company’s newly created Pest Control/Landscape project, as well as work as an agent with special concentration on program business. In this role, Vidrine will work closely with trade associations and groups to coordinate association sponsored casualty programs.

Kevin Smith has been promoted to director of consumer products for Chase Products Company, the company announced recently. Smith will be responsible for the sales and marketing of Chase Product’s extensive line of insecticides, spray paints and automotive and bench/maintenance products to retailers and hardware wholesalers.

Rose Exterminator Co. has named James R. Ives vice president of the company. Having joined the company in 1981, Ives most recently served as district manager of the Detroit Metro North District. In addition, Ives is serving his second term as president of the Michigan Pest Control Association. Ives is also a member of the Copesan Development Committee, and is currently president of the Rotary Club of Dearborn, Mich. Ives is a graduate of Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Ill. Prism Integrated Sanitation Management has named Roger A. Corriveau director of human resources for all North American service businesses. Corriveau will be based in the company’s Miami headquarters, and will head human resources and customer services for Prism Pest Elimination, Prism Professional Kitchen Services and PCO Services, the firm’s Toronto-based operation. According to Paulo S. Bello, president of Prism, the company is re-organizing to handle rapid growth, and a centralized human resources department is critical to the company’s continued success. Since 1995, Corriveau served as director of human resources for PCO services, the largest pest control firm in Canada. His previous experience includes more than 20 years in the service industry.

Jim Harmon, a frequent contributor to PCT, has been named the manager and entomologist for A Perfect Pest Control Company’s new Industrial Pest Management division. Harmon brings many years in the industry and practical pest management experience to the new position. The new division will highlight commercial, museum, library, school, health care and other specialized markets with an emphasis on pest management programming. Harmon will continue to publish his book on IPM in museums and contribute to PCT and other publications. A Perfect Pest Control Company, Inc., is located in San Gabriel, Calif.
