CELLULOSE TECHNOLOGIES GROUP

Cellulose Technologies Group Inc. recently introduced T-A-P thermal, acoustical and pest control insulation. The company says that T-A-P is the first product to add pest control to the many benefits of stabilized cellulose insulation. T-A-P is a cellulose insulation made from defiberized wood fiber. The fibers are then treated with various chemicals to produce a fire-retardant, environmentally friendly and — with T-A-P — pest control insulation. T-A-P brings none of the health and environmental concerns of fiberglass insulation, and can be used in both new construction and retro-fit applications, the company says. T-A-P can also cap existing insulation in attics for an additional layer of thermal protection. The active ingredient in T-A-P is boric acid.

CLEARIDGE

Without the use of chemicals or attachments, patent-pending Clear-idge will stop pigeons from making use of spa overflows, thus quickly disregarding poolside areas, the company says. Pigeons have long been attracted to homes with spa overflows. The readily available water source is a beacon to the undesired fowl. Clearidge prevents the birds from accessing the water. Without this water source they leave, finding alternate water sources elsewhere, the company says. Clearidge can eliminate pigeons from drinking and bathing from the overflows, greatly reducing the chance of pigeons locating at that house. Clearidge is an acrylic product. Required tools include cutting pliers, a measuring tape and bonding agent applicator.

J.L. INNOVATIONS

A new rodent bait station, called the Rodent Rock Cafe, has been developed by J.L. Innovations and is now available. The bait station looks and feels just like a landscaping rock, according to the company. The stations weigh 2 pounds and blend in with existing landscape so that no one can tell that it is actually a rodent bait station, J.L. Innovations reports.

The stations come in three colors: dark granite, light granite and sandstone. The product has a bait insert tray that can be removed from the rock to clean and replenish the bait. The bait insert will also accommodate a rat snap trap. The station can be secured to the ground by a new cable stake that has also been introduced.

WHITMIRE MICRO-GEN

Whitmire Micro-Gen announces the arrival of Prescription Treatment brand Tri-Die Silica & Pyrethrum Bulk Dust, a naturally derived synergized pyrethrum repellent residual dust with contact kill. Tri-Die Silica & Pyrethrum Dust is uniquely formulated to minimize clumping when dispensed from dusters. It contains 1 percent pyrethrum, 10 percent piperonyl butoxide and 40 percent amorphous silica to create an environment that is repellent to and unsuitable for insects to inhabit. Tri-Die dust also adheres to most surfaces and remains active for many months, the company says.

PT Tri-Die Silica & Pyrethrum Bulk Dust uses pyrethrum to provide rapid knockdown and kill of a broad spectrum of insect pests. Piperonyl butoxide is used as a synergist to inhibit the rapid metabolism of pyrethrum, enhancing its effectiveness, Whitmire Micro-Gen adds.

WOODSTREAM

Woodstream Corporation introduces Havahart Electronic Repellent for Deer (HERD). This is an economical and effective solution that uses patented technology to protect property from deer damage by luring them and then delivering a mild, harmless electric shock to the animal, the company says. This shock conditions the deer and repels them from the protected area. The repellent delivers 400 volts (substantially less then a static shock) and has virtually no amps so it is safe for use around children and pets, Woodstream reports. An attractant is provided and placed by the user in the head of each HERD unit to lure the deer. Three HERD units are provided in a carton that will protect about 1,000 square feet of total area.
