Whitmire Micro-Gen
Whitmire Micro-Gen introduces Advance Cockroach Gel Bait. Advance has been proven in university studies as well as in pest management professionals’ field trials to effectively eliminate both gel-averse and non-gel-averse cockroaches, according to the company.
Advance Cockroach Gel Bait features a new bait matrix, which is designed with different attractants than current gel baits to overcome gel aversion. The matrix attracts both averse and non-averse cockroaches and it stays attractive for 30 days or more, Whitmire Micro-Gen reports. Advance Cockroach Gel Bait uses dinotefuran, a fast-acting, new active ingredient.
BASF
BASF introduces the Phantom Phast Shot, a portable tool that provides pest professionals with a precision-targeted application method to administer Phantom termiticide-insecticide for general pest control treatments. Developed with pest professionals in mind, the new tool provides Phantom users with an easy-to-use device for applying Phantom for crack and crevice treatments, the company says. BASF partnered with B&G Equipment Company to create the 16-ounce sprayer, which features a flexible hose spray nozzle attachment.
Through June 30, one Phantom Phast Shot applicator will be included with the purchase of two cases of Phantom (4 x 21 oz.) from participating distributors, while supplies last. In addition, pest professionals also will receive a $30 instant rebate until June 30. Purchases of both cases must be made at one time and appear on one invoice. Maximum limit for one invoice for the instant rebate is $300 or 20 cases of Phantom (4 x 21 oz.) per invoice. The Phantom Phast Shot will be available for purchase at participating distributor locations following this program period.
Bell Laboratories
Bell Laboratories introduces its new hypoallergenic, scent-free glue trap, Trapper MAX Free Glue Trap. With its scent-free formulation, new Trapper MAX Free is ideal for use in schools, offices and other locations where allergens or odors may be a concern, Bell Laboratories reports.
Trapper glue has been tested to ensure maximum captures. This economical glue trap is extra large with 29 square inches of glue-covered surface — ample space to capture and hold mice and insects, according to the manufacturer. Its special release paper is easy to remove, saving time and hassles on the job, according to the company.
Trapper MAX Free can be placed flat along walls, beneath appliances or wherever mice and insects travel. It also can be folded into a covered glue trap to protect the glue and prolong its effectiveness while obscuring captures from view. Trapper MAX also features a perforated edge, which can be removed to allow the glue edge to fit flush against the wall.
PestWest USA
The Exodus ultra low-volume system from PestWest USA is a space-spraying solution for pest management programs. This new portable ULV system has a wide range of applications, achieving the optimum droplet size required for use in public health settings, plus having a unique programmable timer. This means that treatments can take place after hours or when personnel are not present or that treatments can be applied at precise times.
The system uses 34-ounce cartridges and it can be set to treat one area of the facility while the technician services another area. The Exodus timer is accurate, achieving exact dosing rates, which can be set to treat the area for between 2 seconds to 29 minutes at a time, the company reports. As a bonus, the flow rate is 20 percent faster than current ULV cartridge systems while maintaining the ideal droplet size, reducing total application times, according to PestWest USA.
HomeGuard Distributors
HomeGuard Distributors announced that EPA has granted registration of the company’s new Termite Baiting System called Truth. Truth is designed to work hand-in-hand with the company’s subterranean termite monitors. The active ingredient for the new baiting system is diflubenzuron at 0.25 percent.
In other news at the company, HomeGuard’s new, large above-ground Termite Baiting System will make use of about 2 pounds of bait matrix, containing diflubenzuron at 0.25 percent, to halt termite colonies. If termites are found in one of HomeGuard’s Subterranean Termite Monitoring Stations, that station is then removed from the ground and replaced by the HomeGuard Termite Baiting System. The system eliminates the need to open the station, take out the bait matrix and then replace it.
HomeGuard’s Truth Baiting System is tamper-resistant and non-reusable. There is a plastic grid across the bottom to keep the bait in the stations. There is also a sealed see-through plastic lid. The see-through lid provides PCOs with a clear vision of termite activity within the station. HomeGuard’s Termite Baiting System will cast the same exaggerated thermal shadow as HomeGuard Termite Monitors. This exaggerated thermal shadow has proven to attract thousands of termites to both the HomeGuard Termite Monitors and the new HomeGuard Termite Baiting System, the company reports.
Woodstream Corporation
For PCOs who offer retail sales, Woodstream Corporation now offers the Havahart Easy Set Live Animal Cage Trap in two sizes: a small trap for rabbits, squirrels and skunks and a larger size for raccoons, stray cats and groundhogs. The trap is designed for first-time trappers or those who wish to minimize any interaction with the trapped animal. The Havahart Easy Set Live Animal Cage trap is designed to simplify the trapping process and to eliminate consumer anxiety associated with handling trapped animals, the company reports. Made of durable, high-tensile wire mesh, the patent-pending design is lightweight and easy to handle, even with an animal inside, Woodstream reports.
PestWest
The PestWest Mad Hatter lamp recycling program is a complete prepaid box system that promotes PCOs’ environmental stewardship and “green” programs and offers compliance with all federal, state and local regulations, the company reports. The PestWest Mad Hatter lamp recycling program is a nationwide pollution-prevention service designed to recycle PCOs’ spent fluorescent lamps used in insect light traps. The program also allows PCOs to purchase recycling services based on individual needs. The program enables companies to recycle UV lamps in both large and small quantities with a minimum of work and cost using the return box service.
Coxreels
Coxreels’ Safety Series EZ-Coil reels feature the company’s patented controlled retraction and have been painted “safety yellow” since their inception. Now, EZ-Coil models will be painted in Coxreels’ signature Lustrous Blue Proprietary CPC Powder Coat Finish. EZ-Coil models will feature updated logos and labels to be differentiated from Coxreels’ standard reels. The blue models have up to 80 percent slower retraction speed than standard spring rewind reels, the company says.
Teletrac
Teletrac has announced the availability of the FleetDirector Turn-By-Turn vehicle routing and navigation system. The TBT software module provides speed-calibrated, real-time, turn-by-turn, verbal directions to guide drivers to their selected destinations. As an integrated component of FleetDirector’s proprietary eClient fleet management software suite, TBT allows dispatchers for pest management firms to select vehicles, assign destinations and download route driving directions with minimal effort, the company reports.
Water Cannon
Water Cannon, a supplier of pressure washers and replacement parts, now offers a new complete line of pressure washer attachments and accessories. Pest management professionals can find replacement hoses, nozzles, trigger controls, spray wands, soap injectors or any other replacement component from Water Cannon. This line features powerful trigger control and hose kits that will work on pressure washers up to 7,000 psi. The company now offers a full complement of products that work on steam cleaners, taking temperatures of up to 450°F. Water Cannon has replacement attachment kits in both hot and cold water options.
B&G Equipment
The B&G Equipment Company has launched a new foamer. The VersaFoamer HH (hand held) is operator friendly, all metal and delivers excellent foam every time, the company reports. The foamer works well for drain applications, wall voids and termite control.
J.T. Eaton
J.T. Eaton introduces two Insect-O-Matic Flying Insect Light Traps. Model #1500 is a horizontal light featuring a glueboard trap. Its patented Green Light Technology catches 30 percent more flying insects and degrades more slowly than standard ultraviolet blue light traps, the company reports. The 38-watt unit, which includes safety features such as shatterproof bulbs and the need to be unplugged for service, can be freestanding, ceiling-mounted or wall-mounted. The unit is UL approved and can be used in restaurants, food-handling and food-preparation accounts. The unit includes a full five-year warranty on all parts except bulbs and glueboards.
Model #1520 is a round light with a glueboard trap. Like the #1500, it features all-metal construction and Green Light Technology. According to the company, its large catch basin can hold scores of insects and its voltage is controlled to prevent insect explosion.
Both units are effective for control of male and female fruit flies, wasps, mosquitoes, moths, pantry pests and house flies, J.T. Eaton reports.

Corporate Computer Consulting
Corporate Computer Consulting recently enhanced the mobile operations of its PestPro Termite Inspection software by giving full functionality to inspectors in the field using laptop computers. Inspectors can produce and print full termite reports in the field, complete with diagram and work contracts. Also, for California, CCC just added two HUD “pre-treat” forms (HUD-NPCA-99A and HUD-NPCA-99B) to the PestPro software.
H.D. Hudson Manufacturing
H.D. Hudson’s new two-gallon capacity Foam-A-Matic Sprayer creates a more effective and powerful cleaning application when used with cleaners and sanitizers. Foam-sprayed cleaners hold on target longer than traditional liquids, providing more cleaning time, Hudson says. Foam spot cleaners remain on the surface of carpet and upholstery longer, improving results where dirt and stains reside.
This sprayer has Viton-equipped o-rings and gaskets to resist harsh chemicals. Two different spray nozzles are included to provide a heavy foam stream or flat foam fan pattern.
Paraclipse
In response to requests for a wall-mounted, commercial/industrial fly control system, Paraclipse has introduced the Paraclipse Terminator WM fly trap.
The Paraclipse Terminator WM is a two-bulb unit that is open on one side with a large, polished, booster reflector in the back which helps to direct the light out into the room providing effective fly control. This unit can be mounted easily on any wall and is ideal for use in restaurant kitchens, food-processing facilities, warehouses, storage areas, etc. The unit is made of rust free aluminum and painted white for a clean, sanitary appearance. Its high volume, auto-advancing, 60-day cartridge system traps results in high fly captures.
FLEXON
Flexon offers a more economically priced weather hood for use with the company’s Speed-Master high performance roll-up doors. The new hood is a light-duty metal weather hood, and is utilized as an accessory on Speed-Master high-speed roll-up doors that are installed on the exterior side of a building. This light-duty, low-cost hood has a sloped top and is designed for effective protection of the Speed-Master roll and motor from weather in geographical areas where snow loads are unlikely. In addition, it is available in any width, and is shipped in multiple sections, which makes the hood easy to handle and install. For Speed-Master doors installed on the exterior side of a building in areas where snow-loads and severe weather are a concern, Flexon recommends their conventional heavy-duty metal weather hood. The heavy-duty hood is designed to accommodate more severe weather and snow-loads.
