Zoëcon Professional Products
www.zoecon.comThe Zoëcon Professional Products division of Central Life Sciences launched EcoPCO WP-X Water Soluble Pouches, updating the packaging of this botanical insecticide for increased convenience, the company says. Formerly available as a wettable powder, EcoPCO WP-X features the same botanical product formulation in pre-measured, 0.5-ounce water-soluble pouches. This easy-to-use application provides professionals with flexibility, and is approved for use in sensitive areas, Zoëcon reports.
“Pest management professionals have found great success with EcoPCO WP-X, and they will now find the product to be even more convenient to apply,” said Ken Turrentine, director of marketing for the Zoëcon Professional Products division. “By packaging the EcoPCO WP-X in uniform, water soluble pouches, users can ensure ideal dilution rates without the hassle of scooping and measuring.”
Zoëcon Professional Products says the EcoPCO WP-X Water Soluble Pouches are reduced risk and provide quick knockdown and broad-spectrum kill while boasting a botanical profile of active ingredients. Ideal for crack-and-crevice, general surface and tank spray treatments, the formulation is approved for use in indoor and outdoor areas, including sensitive accounts such as food-handling establishments, hospitals, hotels and more. The product is available in cases of 12 packs with 31 water soluble pouches per pack.
Syngenta
www.pestpartners365.comAdding to its portfolio of solutions to help control public health pests, Syngenta has launched two new SecureChoice assurance programs for scorpions and spiders. Each program offers pest management professionals recommended product and treatment protocols for guaranteed control of these pests.
“Scorpions and spiders can both be dangerous threats to the health and well-being of people across the country,” said Pat Willenbrock, head of marketing for Professional Pest Management (PPM) at Syngenta in North America. “By launching these new SecureChoice assurance programs, we’re giving PMPs a complete approach to control these notoriously difficult pests.”
The SecureChoice Scorpion Assurance Program utilizes the performance of Demand CS insecticide with iCAP technology to help reduce scorpion populations. Pairing it with Advion insect granule insecticide helps control scorpion food sources like crickets, cockroaches and earwigs in areas where insecticide sprays may not be as effective, such as landscaping areas adjacent to the structure.
The SecureChoice Spider Assurance Program features the combination of Demon WP insecticide and Demand CS insecticide, or Demon WP and Tandem insecticide, to help control populations of spiders. Microencapsulated and wettable powder formulations of pyrethroid insecticides like Demon WP, Demand CS and Tandem stay on top of porous surfaces and adhere well to spiders’ legs.
Bayer
www.backedbybayer.comThe Professional Pest Management business of Bayer, within the company’s Environmental Science Unit, announced an updated label for Temprid. Temprid FX is the co-milled, dual-active combination product that provides continued control of hard-to-kill pests, the manufacturer says. Its expanded label adds flexibility to outdoor perimeter applications including foliar applications, as well as additional use patterns for combating public health pests.
Temprid provides control of more than 50 pests, including spiders and scorpions. It combines the broad-spectrum control of beta-cyfluthrin with the systemic residual control of imidacloprid to provide optimum performance and efficacy.
“Pest management professionals trust Temprid to work on the toughest jobs,” said David Braness, general insect control (GIC) product manager for Bayer. “The expanded label for Temprid FX allows for more flexible use of Temprid which delivers even more value to our customers.”
As part of this updated label change, Temprid FX will have a new EPA number. Temprid SC EPA Reg. No. 432-1483 will transition to Temprid FX EPA Reg.No. 432-1544.
Temprid FX adds flexibility for outdoor perimeter pest applications, including non-blooming plants. The label allows use patterns for the following areas and pests:
- Foliar applications — including treatment of established landscape ornamentals that are not in bloom without risk of phytotoxicity
- Ant management — including applications to shrubs and ornamentals that are not blooming and where ants may find food or forage
- Treatment of occasional invaders — including treatments on infested trees and shrubs early in the season

Automatic Trap Company
www.automatictrap.comThe Goodnature A24 self-resetting trap from Automatic Trap Company is unique because it can kill 24 times before needing to be reset. It is powered by compressed gas and uses long-lasting, pest-specific lures. When a pest brushes a sensitive leaf-trigger, a steel-core, CO2-pressurized piston strikes its skull, killing it instantly. The dead animal drops to the ground and the trap resets immediately.
The A24 is a multi-species kill trap and uses toxin-free lures to target pests like rats and mice. It’s suited to outdoor use — in backyards, gardens, farms and orchards — as well as indoors. Since it is toxin-free, the product is safe around humans and pets, the manufacturer says.
Small, lightweight and durable, these waterproof traps will last years in remote wilderness as well as the most extreme temperature and weather conditions.
The A24 has just become available in the United States.
