Victor featured its new Kill-@lert Remote Notification System at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show, in January in Las Vegas. The Kill-@lert Remote Notification System was a featured product at Exosite’s tradeshow booth. Exosite is a provider of strategic IoT (Internet of Things) technology that worked with Victor to develop the system’s cloud-based services.

The Kill-@lert Remote Notification System offers both mouse and rat trap solutions via wireless technology to inform users when a trap has been tripped. Users can track the performance of the system using a convenient, user-friendly online platform, the firm says. The complete system comes with four traps, a tablet, USB connector and a range extender, and is ideal for use in residential and small- to medium-size business settings, Victor reports.

The trap creates a 100-foot “bubble” of wireless coverage that can be increased by adding a Kill-@lert Range Extender and positioning the traps so the wireless “bubbles” overlap. This gives users the flexibility to place traps where they need them — under shelves, behind cabinets, storage lockers, drop ceilings, commercial kitchens and any other place that may see increased rodent activity.

Central Life Sciences

Central Life Sciences recently announced the addition of swine to the ClariFly Larvicide label. Featuring the active ingredient diflubenzuron, ClariFly Larvicide feed additive now will be available to control the emergence of manure-breeding flies from a swine operation.

“ClariFly Larvicide has established itself as the most trusted feed-through fly control solution for cattle, and we are excited to make this available to swine producers for the first time,” said Mark Taylor, director of marketing at Central Life Sciences. “Swine pests pose a significant threat to an operation’s bottom line by spreading disease, interfering with animal comfort and performance and even potentially bringing about nuisance lawsuits from neighbors. An integrated pest management (IPM) program built around ClariFly Larvicide can help protect producers from these risks.”

ClariFly Larvicide Livestock Premix 0.67 percent is available in a 50-pound bag and should be fed at a rate of 0.2-0.3 mg/kg per day for swine, with the higher rate being offered to lightweight animals.

ClariFly Larvicide is a feed supplement that prevents adult house and stable flies, as well as other manure-breeding flies, from developing in and emerging from the manure of treated swine. ClariFly Larvicide works by interrupting the fly’s life cycle, rather than through direct toxicity, and it does so with no impact on the animal consuming it, Central Life Sciences says.
