The Professional Pest Management business of Bayer, within the company’s Environmental Science Unit, announced that Suspend PolyZone is now being produced with an expanded label that includes food-handling area applications. (Only product produced with the new label can be used for food-handling area applications.)

Suspend PolyZone features a proprietary polymer layer that protects the active ingredient from water, spray rinsing and mechanical abrasion for up to 90 days. This long-lasting residual formulation controls common pests like roaches, flies, ants and more — even in warm, wet environments — because the active ingredient stays where it’s applied after drying, Bayer says.

For a comprehensive approach to pest management in commercial kitchens or other food-handling facilities, Suspend PolyZone can be used in conjunction with Maxforce baits. Using the Maxforce Roach Control System for bait-averse roaches with the staying power and adaptability of Suspend PolyZone offers PCOs a knockout combination, Bayer officials say.

Bed Bug Heat Doctor/PrevSol

Bed Bug Heat Doctor/PrevSol announced the introduction of its new BBHD-8 hotel room heating system. The BBHD-8 can bring room temperatures to at least 125°F in virtually every crack and crevice, so that any infestation can be reached and eradicated, the firm says.

According to Jeff Zimmerman, Bed Bug Heat Doctor/PrevSol’s CEO, “Delivering a product of this capability brings an immediate and proven solution to a challenging problem. Pest pros know that any bed bug problem can destroy their customers’ property, and impact revenue and reputation. This is especially true with the exploding use of social media by dissatisfied customers who spread negative information. That means only immediate answers can be the solution, and heat works like nothing else. It is the only 100 percent effective treatment in killing bed bugs, which die at 111°F and their eggs die at 117°F.

“Our BBHD-8 device is perfect for hotel rooms at 350 square feet or less,” he added. “It has a durable handle and wheels for easy use and mobility. It also offers distinct user benefits because it is the easiest heating system to set up, and because it totally eradicates even serious infestations quickly and economically. Nisus

wood-destroying organisms (WDO), Nisus Corp. says. The easy-to-use can comes with an applicator hose and two tips: one for narrow cracks and crevices or small holes, and a wide tip for larger holes and wider area application. PMPs can use iSTRIKE when they see wood-boring beetles, carpenter bees, subterranean or drywood termites, or listed ants. iSTRIKE kills on contact as the foam fills the galleries, voids and holes and leaves a residual to continue protection. Registration is pending in Florida, South Carolina and Puerto Rico.

SenesTech

ContraPest is a highly effective liquid contraceptive bait specifically designed for rats, SenesTech says. The technology behind the bait works by chemically inducing infertility in male and female rats. Consumption of ContraPest causes a decline in rat litter size as early as two weeks after ingestion. SenesTech’s product is environmentally neutral, non-toxic and does not affect other non-target animals or humans, the firm says. ContraPest is currently available in 49 states and awaiting approval in California.

SenesTech also recently announced a national distribution agreement with Univar for ContraPest. In addition to distribution, Univar will be marketing and selling ContraPest throughout its network.

Amvac

Amvac says its Navigator SC is an effective pre- and post-construction termite control product. With Exterior Perimeter/Localized Interior (EP/LI) applications, Navigator SC kills a variety of subterranean termites and protects the home against future infestations. Navigator SC also protects against perimeter pests and invaders, like ants.

After termites pass through the treatment area, they transfer the non-repellent active ingredient, fipronil, back to the nest. The product quickly spreads, resulting in accelerated colony destabilization, according to Amvac. The quick action formulation of Navigator SC makes it an ideal tool for pest management professionals, the manufacturer says.

Bird-B-Gone

Made in the United States, the rugged Bird-B-Gone 1-inch industrial clamp offers heavy-duty tempered wire springs for fast, reliable opening and closing. The spring action in each clamp is designed for one-handed operation, making attaching/detaching quick and easy. Point of pressure remains near jaw tips for positive clamping. It is an ideal clamp for use in securing fumigation tents to prevent gas leakage, Bird-B-Gone says.

Polyguard Products

Polyguard Products says its TERM Barrier Systems are dedicated to bringing together the worlds of architecture and pest control to reduce future pesticide applications. TERM has options for both pre-construction and existing structures. Those include the use of exactly sized stone particles for perimeter termite exclusion and bath trap pest exclusion, as well as sealants for use around plumbing penetration points. The particle barrier has been successfully tested by Texas A&M University.
