CLEVELAND — John H. Gedeon Sr., founder of the Cleveland-based General Pest Control Company, died in late July. He was 83.
Born to German immigrant parents in 1917, he joined Knox Fumigating Company in 1937. In 1949 he and his wife formed The General Pest Control Company and the business provided residential, commercial and industrial services for customers in the northeast Ohio area. John and Ruth were later joined in the family business by their sons John Jr. and Bob.
He is survived by his wife; four children, John Jr., Carol, Shirley and Bob; his sister; and six grandchildren.
