The Face of Ant Management

As director of the product development, regulatory, and technical services teams at Control Solutions, Inc., Dr. Janis Reed and her teams aim to provide thoughtful, innovative solutions to any pest management need. Often obtaining inspiration from PMPs for new product development, she is proud of her team’s ability to change direction and work to solve new and complex problems as they arise in the pest management industry. Her career path, which includes more than 20 years as a certified applicator, makes her a triple threat with real-world experience. Having been the Technical Director of a pest control company, she has first-hand knowledge of how formulations can make or break a product and a comprehensive understanding of pesticide active ingredient modes of action. Dr. Reed earned both of her advanced degrees in entomology focused on urban pest ant species and has spent her career studying, identifying, and managing dozens of species of ants. Today, she works diligently to find new and better solutions for ant management services. Dr. Reed is in high demand to provide educational sessions to PMPs on various subjects, but ants are her favorite due to their complex biology and varied control methods.
