Top 10 Things to Know

Rodent infestations have become an increasingly challenging problem. Traditional methods for addressing rodent infestations aren’t enough to keep up with their growing numbers. SenesTech, Inc., has examined this problem and developed a revolutionary way to get to the root of the problem.

1. Evolve is a product line of soft bait contraceptives for rodents.

Evolve products are FIFRA Section 25(b) exempt “minimum risk pesticides” with the active ingredient, cottonseed oil. Evolve products inhibit fertility by interfering with the reproductive mechanisms in both male and female rodents. This targets the infestation at its source.

2. How Evolve fertility control works.

Evolve products provide a cumulative effect, thus the more a rodent consumes, the greater the result. It is a contraceptive, not a sterilant, so a continuous supply maintains lower numbers. It begins working after one to two breeding cycles and results become more apparent after each breeding cycle. When there are no new births, the population begins to decline.

3. Evolve can increase the effectiveness and profitability of your pest management program.

Evolve opens opportunities with environmentally sensitive accounts, allowing for business growth and increased revenues. Evolve works by achieving long-term population control and extending the existing efforts of an integrated pest management program for results that can be counted on.

4. Evolve is designed for diverse placements and can be deployed in areas where rodenticides can’t.

When used as directed, Evolve can be deployed in schools, government buildings, food-packing facilities, granaries, poultry houses, farms, barns and silos.

5. Evolve is environmentally safe.

Evolve poses little to no risk to human health or the environment. This includes nontarget species, including predatory birds (when used as directed).

6. Evolve products are a preferred food source for rodents.

Rodents are attracted to Evolve products’ highly palatable soft bait over other food sources. Evolve reduces bait aversion and becomes a desired food source.

7. Evolve products can be used to establish 12-month rodent control programs.

Similar to insect programs, Evolve products can be used to establish monthly, consistent, preventative rodent control.

8. Evolve provides excellent control in agricultural environments.

Even where there is an abundant supply of food, Evolve products quickly become a preferred food source for rodents. This provides the opportunity for Evolve to be consumed and effectively reduce the population.

9. Evolve is excellent for residential use.

Evolve can be deployed in attics, crawl spaces, and inside burrows without using a bait station. A contraceptive bait that lacks negative side effects is advantageous for an integrated pest management program.

10. Evolve products are designed to be non-lethal.

Lethal methods remove rodents, but survivors can quickly re-populate. Survivors can rapidly increase in numbers because of their short reproductive cycles and large litter sizes. Evolve prevents rebounding populations, allowing for long-term control. Lethal control by rodenticides can become less effective over time due to rodent behavior, bait aversion, genetic resistance, or increased tolerance.
