OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington State Pest Management Association (WSPMA) announced that current education chair and owner of Olympia Pest Management, Samantha Malone, was named the new executive director.
Luke Rambo, president, Rambo Total Pest Control said Malone’s elevation to this position represents the future of WSPMA/ "In many ways Samantha has been the face of Washington State Pest Management Association for several years in her role as communications coordinator, and now having her as our executive director we look forward to working with her to continue the development of our association's commitment to professionalism in our industry both locally and nationally.
Rambo added that Malone has proven for years that she is up for the task, both in her professional pursuits with Olympia Pest Management and her many contributions to WSPMA. "We are also excited to have a member of Professional Women In Pest Management leading our association into the future.”
Malone was born into the professional pest management industry, with both her father and aunt owning their own successful companies. She opened Olympia Pest Management with her husband, Miles Malone, in 2017.
Her father, Tim Baker, has served as the executive director of the association since 2006. “I cannot be more pleased with the relationships that have come about during my time here," he said. "The people and places have moved into a realm that I would never had thought possible as a salesman for Terminix in 1984. The association is very capable hands, and I will be available for council and guidance as needed."
Malone said her priorities are to engage with membership, strengthen the foundation and lead through action.
