As the pest control industry continues to adapt to the evolving demands of the marketplace, Zoëcon Professional Products has strengthened its position as a trusted leader and valuable partner.
Zoëcon helped develop the first commercially available insect growth regulator product (IGR) for the professional pest control industry in 1974, establishing a commitment to innovation and reduced-risk solutions that still drives Zoëcon Professional Products after more than 40 years.
“Just as Zoëcon’s pioneering role in the development of the first IGR delivered a reduced-risk alternative pest control solution that was widely sought at the time, our current commitment to providing green pest control is filling a very important demand in today’s pest control marketplace,” said Ken Turrentine, director of marketing for Zoëcon Professional Products.
The company recently bolstered one of the industry’s most renowned lineups of pest control solutions with the addition of several natural and botanical products of varying application types and active ingredients. The products — including the highly regarded EcoPCO and Essentria lines — have proven very popular for Zoëcon.
“We’ve placed great emphasis on not just announcing the availability of these products to our customers, but educating this audience on all of the benefits they offer and helping them incorporate these solutions into their standard control practices,” added Turrentine. “Our sales team has really been the driver in getting these products into the hands of customers and showing them personally how to use them most effectively and realize the impact they can have on their bottom line.”
According to Mel Whitson, senior field technical services manager for Zoëcon Professional Products, pest control professionals are embracing green solutions as alternatives to more traditional approaches for sensitive accounts, including residences, schools and government facilities. Beyond that, the Zoëcon team has helped its customers learn the value of green products as a complement to traditional products, providing a great option for maintenance treatments and offering PCOs a more rounded arsenal of products.
“Expanding the Zoëcon line has really helped our customers view us as a one-stop-shop for their pest control needs,” said Whitson. “We’ve received great feedback from customers who are happy to see these natural products from a manufacturer and team that they trust.”
Zoëcon Professional Products offers a complete portfolio that now includes IGRs, traditional adulticides, natural and botanical products, and synergistic formulations that offer PCOs innovative alternatives. The majority of the company’s products feature minimum risk active ingredients, and now with natural products, a number of FIFRA 25(b) exempt offerings.
The EcoPCO line of products features botanical alternatives, such as natural oils and pyrethrins that offer a quick kill and extended repellency with minimal scent. Familiar products include EcoPCO® ACU Contact Insecticide, EcoPCO® AR-X Multi-Purpose Insecticide and, relaunching this summer, EcoPCO® WP-X Water Soluble Pouches.
Essentria products are all FIFRA 25(b) exempt, offering a more natural option. Led by Essentria® IC3 and Essentria® All Purpose Insecticide Concentrates, these products provide a quick kill with an insect-specific mode of action and a pleasant aroma.
