NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — American Vanguard Corporation (AMVAC) announced that Peter Eilers is the company’s new managing director of AMVAC Netherlands B.V. His previous position, vice president of business development and marketing, AMVAC, was filled by Jean Pougnier.
Eilers will be responsible for AMVAC’s international business. He assumed the position on May 1. Ad
de Jong, who formerly held the position and will soon be retiring, will continue to work on international matters on a project basis for the remainder of 2018. They will both be based in Houten, Netherlands.
“This strategic, internal change is focused on our company’s overall business objectives,” said Eric Wintemute, chairman and CEO of AMVAC. “We’re proud of the high caliber of talent we have here at AMVAC, and we’re confident that Eilers’ promotion will help us achieve company growth.”
Pougnier, who is replacing Eilers, is based in Newport Beach, Calif. He has 36 years of experience, 24 years of which were in the agrochemical sector in the areas of business development, finance, strategy and leading commercial organizations. During this time, Pougnier conducted multiple acquisitions and divestitures, led initiatives to make significant portfolio additions and negotiated licensing agreements.
“Pougnier’s extensive industry experience will be invaluable for AMVAC,” said Wintemute. “We are confident he will help our company continue to grow in this new role.”
