AMVAC Introduces Nuvan Directed Spray Aerosol

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – AMVAC Chemical Corporation, a business unit of American Vanguard Corporation, has introduced Nuvan Directed Spray Aerosol, a new aerosol spray for the control of bed bugs, cockroaches, fleas and 21 other structural pests.

Nuvan Directed Spray Aerosol is a broad spectrum insecticide that can be used tovcontrol bed bugs, bed bug eggs, beetles, carpet beetles, cockroaches, crickets, fleas and other pests. Nuvan Directed Spray Aerosol provides almost immediate control of the labeled pests, the manufacturer reports. The active ingredient in Nuvan Directed Spray Aerosol, dichlorvos (DDVP), is one of the most effective active ingredients to use against bed bugs, including pyrethroid-resistant bed bug strains, AMVAC reports.

“NUVAN Directed Spray Aerosol provides the pest management professional a lot of utility – from where it can be used to the broad spectrum of insects it controls,” said Jeff Alvis, business manager, AMVAC Environmental Products. “NUVAN Directed Spray Aerosol has both contact and vapor action to affect and kill insects present in the immediate treatment area. For effective bed bug control, NUVAN Directed Spray Aerosol should be applied directly to bed bugs or areas where they are known to have been present. Pest management professionals should inspect and treat areas where bed bugs may hide, travel, harbor or lay eggs. NUVAN Directed Spray Aerosol will not stain or discolor the treated area; however, an applicator should conduct a test application on a hidden area of the target surface prior to application. NUVAN Directed Spray Aerosol may not be applied as a broadcast treatment or space spray. For localized application, a two second application of product per four to five linear feet should be applied from a distance of 12” to 15” from the treated surface. Treated areas should not be reoccupied for at least two hours after application.

Available for use in a variety of locations, NUVAN Directed Spray Aerosol can be applied in localized areas of homes, commercial buildings, apartments, cabins, garages, basements, factories, hotels, warehouses and other commercial and industrial buildings. Additional areas include non-food and non-feed areas of food/feed processing, manufacturing and service establishment sites, including lavatories, floor drains, entries and offices.
