BAYONEE, N.J. — AP&G, home of the Catchmaster brand, announced the launch of their new Ovi-Planter Mosquito Trap.
The technology and design behind Ovi-Planter were inspired by the Catchmaster Ovi-Catch Mosquito Trap developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Ovi-Catch received the 2021 Federal Lab Consortium Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer.
The Ovi-Planter’s attractive design helps it fit discreetly into almost any residential or commercial environment, AP&G reports. The trap targets female mosquitoes, using their breeding habits against them. Studies show that each female caught eliminates up to 1,000 future mosquitoes making it an ideal choice to monitor and reduce mosquito populations. The product fits nicely into a monthly service schedule, lending itself well to pest management professionals’ offerings, AP&G reports.
“One of our core values at Catchmaster is ‘Customer Centric,’” said Stan Cope, vice president, technical products and services. “In this case, we listened to our customers who loved the Ovi-Catch but wanted something a bit more pleasing to the eye — Voila, the Ovi-Planter!”
The Catchmaster Ovi-Catch Mosquito Trap is available through most industry distributors. Pest professionals can learn more about the product on the Catchmaster Pro website.
