TAMPA, Fla. — Certus Pest has promoted David Joles to chief operating officer. In this role, Joles will implement company strategies into daily operations to meet key goals and objectives. As the company’s third officer, he will lead the organization’s sales, customer care, and service operations. This transition builds upon the success Joles has showcased both at Certus Pest and throughout the industry.
Joles has more than three decades of pest control industry experience and has been with Certus Pest since 2022, when he began his journey as the company’s vice president of operations for the eastern market. In December 2023, he was promoted to senior vice president of operations. Between that promotion and his current one, Joles leadership and strategic direction led to an increase in annual recurring revenue by 11 percent. Other benchmarks achieved during this time included a year-over-year increase of sales (29 percent), revenue (6 percent), and route completion (2.2 points).
“David’s strong character, humble leadership, and industry acumen are invaluable assets that warrant a promotion such as this,” said Dave Bradford, CEO of Certus Pest. “His innate desire to mentor and positively influence others have been a continuous difference-maker for our company’s team members, and has produced tangible results for our customers. I’m delighted to partner with him as we lead Certus Pest into its next era.”
Joles previous pest control industry experience encompassed leadership roles at Orkin, Terminix, Environmental Pest Services, as well as serving as the CEO of U.S. Pest Protection. Joles possesses a bachelor’s degree in business organization from Kaplan University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
“I’m excited to continue providing service-oriented leadership at Certus Pest while embracing the challenges of my new role,” said Joles. “I enjoy leading organic growth through galvanizing our team members to spearhead quality sales and acquisitions.
