Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton called on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Friday to examine a possible connection between foreclosures and the West Nile virus.
Clinton called on the CDC to update its guidelines for dealing with West Nile, and for the federal agency to make localities aware of a possible link between global warming and the disease.
Clinton also asked the CDC to look into the possibility that the foreclosure crisis and vacant homes are leaving pools of stagnant water where the virus-carrying mosquitoes breed.
