CARY, N.C. — Envu has introduced Barricor Essential Mosquito Control, an essential oil-based insecticide, formulated under FIFRA 25(b), that has been tested to provide a 24-hour* mortality rate for Aedes mosquitoes while being safe for bees and butterflies, according to Envu.
Many homeowners prioritize their outdoor spaces, but mosquitoes can create problems by carrying diseases such as West Nile virus, Zika, and eastern equine encephalitis. As a result, there is increasing concern about mosquito control in residential areas.
Gokhan Vergon, head of pest management and public health at Envu, said, “As interest in eco-friendly mosquito control grows, we are focused on developing solutions that meet both performance and environmental standards. Barricor Essential Mosquito Control addresses the need for an effective solution that lawn care operators can rely on.”
Barricor Essential Mosquito Control features a patent-pending, water-based formulation that is easy to mix and remains stable for up to 24 hours. This eliminates the need for remixing. The product is also free from signal words or PPE requirements**, making it safe for use in a variety of outdoor environments, from residential to commercial spaces, Envu reports. It contains 2-4 times less active material, which reduces irritation, staining, and wear on equipment.
Barricor Essential Mosquito Control is part of the growing Envu portfolio of environmentally conscious mosquito control products.
