Envu Introduces Temprid Dust for Bed Bugs and Other Pests

Temprid Dust combines two modes of action in a light silica aerogel formulation. The product can be used to control bed bugs and other pests.

CARY, N.C, – Envu announced the addition of a new product to its complementary suite of bed bug detection and control solutions: Temprid Dust. By combining two modes of action in a light silica aerogel formulation, Temprid Dust provides quick knockdown of pests in hard-to-reach areas.

Envu Professional Pest Management's bed bug portfolio includes: TruDetx Bed Bug Rapid Test, the first tool in its category to detect bed bugs with a rapid test; Temprid FX insecticide,  which can be effective in preventing infestations for up to six months after initial treatment, according to Envu; and Temprid Dust, which Envu says can last for years in dry, undisturbed environments. This portfolio covers a spectrum of solutions for different stages of bed bug management, starting with reliable early detection, and addresses the critical need for innovative tools in the battle against these persistent pests.

“We’re very excited to introduce Temprid Dust to the market because we believe it will enable pest management professionals to add more power to their programs, which translates to greater success managing infestations,” said Matt Remmen, Envu senior technical market development manager. “Temprid Dust uses two modes of action to eliminate bed bugs and other indoor pests, including pyrethroid-resistant strains, on contact. And with a lighter formulation compared to similar products, it is not only the ideal solution for hard-to-reach harborages but it can also last for years in dry, undisturbed environments.”

Temprid Dust contains two active ingredients, beta-cyfluthrin (pyrethroid) and the all-new flupyradifurone (butenolide), both of which have a unique mode of action and are amended on a silica aerogel carrier (the delivery system). This formulation is lighter than many other dusts, Envu reports, which makes it ideal for hard-to-reach areas and precise insect contact. Additionally, Envu says that thanks to its application versatility, it will be particularly useful for treating hard-to-reach areas where other dusts and liquid solutions fall short, such as electrical outlets, baseboards, cracks and crevices, and other hidden spots where bed bugs reside.

Alex Ko, Ph.D., product development manager, underscored the importance of developing products with new modes of action. “Bed bugs can show resistance to different insecticides, which makes a diversified approach the best way to effectively treat them,” he explained. “It’s essential to keep innovating so we can provide pest management professionals with new tools that empower them to combat bed bug infestations with confidence and efficacy.”

In addition to bed bugs, Temprid Dust can be used to control cockroaches, ants, spiders and other indoor pests.

Envu provides a variety of products that detect and control bed bugs, as well as ongoing support, technical expertise and training for PMPs. “They can ask our experts and choose the treatment that works best for their circumstances so they can get to their solution faster,” added Remmen. “With the addition of Temprid Dust, the bed bug portfolio from Envu offers PMPs confidence, control and coverage that is truly unmatched in the industry.”

Temprid Dust is now available for purchase at all Envu pest control distributors.
