MANTUA, N.J. — Hoffman’s Exterminating announced Eve Pappas, the company’s vice president of business development growth, as one of 50 women receiving the 2023 NJBIZ Best Fifty Women in Business Award.
“It means a lot to me because it’s really how people perceive you as being a supporter and a mentor to people in our communities,” Pappas said. “Every day I try my best, and that is all I can ask for of my [Hoffman’s] team members and customers.”
Pappas’ commitment to the pest control industry dates to her beginnings with Orkin in February 1981 as a residential sales representative at Orkin’s Pennsauken, N.J., branch.
In her 27 years as an Orkin employee, Pappas held various leadership positions: Regional sales/ service manager; area sales manager; operations manager; branch manager; and branch residential service manager for the East Coast and Midwest.
In 2008, she joined New Jersey-based Viking Pest Control as southern regional manager, helping the company grow from $12 million to $20 million. In 2013, she took a turn on the supplier side of the industry and went to work for mattress liner manufacturer Allergy Technologies, where she sold ActiveGuard mattress liners nationwide.
Pappas started her partnership with Hoffman’s at the beginning of 2016, working alongside Hoffman CEO Bill Hoffman to help grow the company. When Pappas was hired the company had 12 technicians; today it has about 40.
An awards ceremony will be held on Wed., Oct. 25, at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, N.J. to honor Pappas and the other honorees.
