Fenvastar Plus 8.4% EC Label Amended

LG Life Sciences announced that the label for Fenvastar Plus 8.4% EC has been amended to include control of bed bugs through void treatments with aerosol-generating equipment such as Patriot, Actisol or B&G’s new Aerosol Generator Equipment.

Alpharetta, Ga. — LG Life Sciences announced that the label for Fenvastar Plus 8.4% EC has been amended to include control of bed bugs through void treatments with aerosol-generating equipment such as Patriot, Actisol or B&G’s new Aerosol Generator Equipment. By attacking bed bugs that are harboring in deep voids or have moved into new, cooler areas to avoid heat treatments, pest management professionals have a better chance of eliminating the problem, LG Life Sciences says. For this type of void treatment, Fenvastar can be diluted with either a diluent oil or utilize a 0.5% to 1.0% oil-based pyrethrins. An appropriate IGR may also be added, the company says.

“The use of a Fenvastar Plus/IGR mixture applied through aerosol-generating equipment to penetrate into hidden areas may soon become a necessity for PMPs doing bed bug work,” said Patrick F. Callahan, national sales and marketing manager, LG Life Sciences. “The effectiveness of this type of deep penetrating application for roaches has been well documented for over 20 years. Bed bugs are harboring and laying eggs in these same inaccessible areas, and this control method will receive renewed implementation as part of a multi-faceted attack plan to combat bedbugs. This void treatment use pattern even complements vacuuming, steam, thermal or freezing (non-chemical) protocols since the insecticide is placed in unseen areas.”

“All of us at Rockwell Labs are excited about having excellent products to sell as part of a bed bug control regimen. The other LG product Lambdastar 9.7% CS is also labeled for crack and crevice applications for bed bugs, so PMPs could use both Lambdastar and Fenvastar Plus,” said Cisse Spragins, Ph.D., president of Rockwell Labs, LG’s marketing partner. “LG’s unique residual liquids also provided our sales team and PMPs throughout the country with a great broadcast flea product in Fenvastar Plus. It’s one of the few products left with this use pattern on the label.”

Additionally, Fenvastar Plus has now been registered for ULV fogging in food-processing plants, food-handling establishments, warehouses, storage areas and other large indoor, commercial sites for control of cockroaches, spiders, flying insects, scorpions and stored product pests.

The amended label is still pending in New York and California.
