LAS VEGAS — Whether it's using our phones to automate simple tasks like reminding us to do a task based on our location, or something more complex that helps the bottom line, we all want to feel like power users. And that's how Aspire Software and FieldRoutes were hoping users felt after their annual user conference, IGNITE 2023 — a three-day event that brought together professionals from the lawn and landscape, pest control and commercial cleaning sectors, to share best practices, industry knowledge and highlight the latest technological innovations and software solutions.
More than 1,400 people from across the three sectors registered for the event, held this year at Caesar's Forum in Las Vegas. That number is more than double the attendance at last year's event, which didn't include FieldRoutes customers.
"One of the things that I love most about being a part of these industries is your willingness, your interest to give back to each other, to share your lessons learned, to share your failures — sometimes — and share best practices," said Mark Tipton, CEO of Aspire Software and FieldRoutes, during the opening session. "Collectively, what we have in this room is some of the best talent in these industries."
The event included sessions intended to help users discover the ins and outs of all the software at their fingertips, inspire them to become better leaders and more.
FieldRoutes also unveiled its software roadmap for 2024, which included bringing users the ability to find demographic information for areas that they're targeting for new sales, giving technicians the ability to create proposals for customers in the field and a revamp of renewal offerings.
The event's Product & Partner hub gave attendees the chance to meet companies who are integrated with Aspire and FieldRoutes, such as Corteva Agriscience, Bell Labs and more, as well as access to developers to help work out any issues users may have with the software.
But IGNITE 2023 wasn't with out some inspirational take home messages. Former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith shared inspirational stories about how he got to the pinnacle of his sport. Instead of focusing on his time with the Cowboys, the three-time Super Bowl champion and Pro Football Hall of Famer discussed how he even got there in the first place, focusing on his high school and college career.
"Sometimes we think that everything is about us and it's not," he said, after talking about a high school game where he fumbled the ball on three consecutive possessions. "It's about that team. Because when I fumble that football, all the work that the offensive line does goes away. My defense is put in a bad position, and the opposing team gets more opportunities to score more points against us, and we can lose the game. There are so many important things that we all must do. Every position on the football field and every position in every organization matters."
