BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Liberty Pest Control, Brooklyn, N.Y., kicked off 2024 by moving into a new 11,000-square-foot office and warehouse.
The new facility, located at 850 Third Ave., in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, is an important milestone for the fast-growing pest control firm, which recently broke 5,000 accounts (servicing New York and New Jersey). Previously, Liberty operated out of multiple buildings in Brooklyn.
“We’re bringing everything under one roof,” said Joe Temperino, co-owner of Liberty Pest Control. “There is a portion of it for our chemicals, and we also have sales, accounts receivables and the service department all under one roof. We also have plans to add a learning center.”
The new building (located in a building ironically named Liberty Brooklyn) was a long-time goal of founder and co-owner Rich Cappa. Like many NYC pest control firms, most of Liberty’s routes are serviced by foot. Each technician has a dropbox where they will pick up chemicals and supplies (anexception being the company’s rodent-proofing division). Cappa wanted a place where all technicians could gather for training, team-building and other functions.
One example of how the new facility benefits Liberty is housing its rodent-proofing division. Temperino said Liberty has become a proponent of rodent-proofing, which is critical for keeping mice and rodents out of aging NYC structures. “Working in New York City…you definitely need to step up your game in this industry or you're going to be left out. Customers appreciate that we're a one-stop shop. We’re not just coming to exterminate — we're coming to protect your entire account.
