COLUMBIA, S.C. – Curious where your city ranks on the list of most active termite locations in the Lowcountry? Terminix Service, the eighth largest pest control company in North America, has released a ranking of the most active termite cities across its service area in South Carolina, Western North Carolina and the Central Savannah River Area of Georgia. Based on the number of termite service calls and appointments, the list ranks Mount Pleasant first, followed by the Tri-County areas of North Charleston at 14 and Charleston at 17.
“Termites leave very few clues of their presence, so it’s important to take necessary precautions to protect your home before costly damage occurs,” says Kevin Hathorne, technical director at Terminix Service, Inc. “The first step is to have your home inspected by a certified professional to look for signs of termite activity. The reason most homeowners insurance doesn’t cover termite damage is because it’s something that could have been prevented.”
