‘Pizza Rat’ a Popular Halloween Costume
Among the most downloaded YouTube clips of 2015 has been the “Pizza Rat,” a 14-second video clip uploaded to YouTube by Matt Little. (At press time, it had been viewed more than 8.6 million times). If you are one of the few who haven’t seen the video, it is pretty amazing footage of a rodent struggling to drag a piece of pizza down a flight of stairs — the consensus seems to be that it is adorable and disturbing at the same time. As the CNN.com article “Pizza Rat: Our newest obsession,” noted: “It can be argued that there are fewer things more New York than a slice, the subway and a rat. Combine the three, and it’s magic.”
You had to know that one of the top costumes for Halloween 2015 would be the pizza rat. Several variations were out this year including the “Sexy Pizza Rat” costume, offered by Yandy, and more family-friendly costumes from HalloweenCostumes.com, which also suggested that outfit as a pairing: one person could buy (or make) a giant rat costume while another person could go dressed up as a piece of pizza. — Brad Harbison

Man Survives Six Days Without Water by Eating Ants
In early October, a hunter who got lost in a vast Australian desert managed to survive for six days without water by eating ants, CNN.com reported in the article “Police: Lost hunter survives 6 days without water by eating ants.”
Reginald Foggerdy, 62, had embarked on a hunting trip with his brother in the Great Victoria Desert in Western Australia. He went missing after setting off to hunt animals in the dry, sandy wilderness, wearing only a t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops, according to police.
“His last couple of days of survival were achieved by lying down under a tree and eating black ants,” Police Superintendent Andy Greatwood told local radio. “That’s the level of survival that Mr. Foggerdy has gone to.”
We think Mr. Foggerdy is fantastic. Eat your heart out Bear Grylls!
