The total U.S. William Blair/PCO Bookkeepers & M&A Specialists & M&A Specialists Pest Index increased 14 percent year-over-year in July 2024, showing a strong rebound after several months of deceleration.
The total U.S. William Blair/PCO Bookkeepers & M&A Specialists Pest Index increased 14 percent year-over-year in July 2024, showing a strong rebound after several months of deceleration. July’s results are above the long-term average index growth rate of 10 percent.
“The improvement in July was broad-based across all five sub-indices,” says William Blair Equity Researcher Tim Mulrooney. “The residential pest index, in particular, showed a strong rebound in July (up 16% year-over-year), versus last month (up only 8% year-over-year). Although we are careful not to draw conclusions from one month of data, it is encouraging to see such a strong reversal in July.”
Dan Gordon, managing member of PCO Bookkeepers & M&A Specialists, adds, “While the trend line this year has been volatile, it still points upward and that indicates the demand for our services are strong.”
The month’s results by segment include:
• The Residential Pest Index increased 16 percent year-over-year.
• The Commercial Pest Index increased 13 percent year-over-year.
• The Termite Index increased 8 percent year-over year.
• The Bed Bug Index increased 31 percent year-over-year.
• The Mosquito Index increased 21 percent year-over-year.
