SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Certified Pest Control Operators of Georgia (CPCO) and P.E.S.T. Relief International provided an outreach effort at the Savannah Spring Seminar to raise awareness and support for Bradley Jordan's surviving wife and two-year old son. Jordan was killed on the job while servicing an apartment complex in the community. Attendees rallied to raise money for outstanding expenses and create a piece of art, which included personal thumbprints of the attendees representing colorful leaves on a tree. Notes of encouragement and cash offerings as well as the canvas were presented to Savannah and Oliver Jordan to offer comfort and relief during this time of loss. In addition, donors from all over the country responded to the need with more monetary donations to help Savannah with her living expenses.
Also, during the Florida Pest Management Association (FPMA) conference in June, P.E.S.T. Relief International honored David Cooksey's life through the philanthropy event, "Do it For Dave." Manufacturers and members of the pest management industry who were attending the conference filled 100 bags of relief for local veterans residing and/or seeking services in Saint Petersburg, Florida. During this event sponsored by Mattress Safe, Inc., volunteers stuffed drawstring bags with items such as an embroidered veteran hat, toiletry care package, American flag, reusable mask, snacks and a handwritten note of encouragement for each veteran. After the conference, the volunteers of P.E.S.T. Relief International delivered the bags to veterans at the local veteran's hospital with the assistance of the Florida State Elks Association.
Andrea Hancock, founder of P.E.S.T. Relief International said, "David Cooksey was a proud veteran and served the industry well. These thoughtful gifts reflect the impact of David's life on so many others. They mean so much to our veterans, and we're grateful to continue these initiatives that bring hope, dignity and comfort - especially in honor of one of our own."
